As promised in my thank you post back in September 2008 that the 2009 year was going to be a great year at the Kissena Velodrome, I present to the track cyclists and anyone else that wants to learn about tracking cycling or wants to be a better sprinter, The Tempo Cycling Training Series.Â
Kirk Whitman and I talked about doing a training series over a year ago and continued our conversations over the winter and it is finally going to happen. I will be offering a great training program for beginers, intermediate, advanced, and Elite riders. This program “Works” and it can be used to learn more skills or go all the way up to preparing for Nationals or a World event. Don’t believe me, just look at the results this program produced.  “The Program Works”.Â
It doesn’t matter where you are from. But I can tell you that we will have more riders out of Kissena in 2009 competing at high level races within the states and abroad then we ever did before, and this program is key as I will help riders within the program prepare for their events.
I will have some great guest instructors that will be assisting me as well this year. Gil Hatton (First American to be invited to compete in the Japanese Keirin, and coached Marty Nothstein to the Gold Metal at the 2000 Olympics), Anton Quist (current Kilo Master World record holder) & other great guest instructors are planing to come too.
I recommend that Juniors, Cat 4-5, beginner and imtermiate riders attend Session 1 while the more advanced riders attend Session 2.
The event will be promoted by me, Andrew LaCorte.
The training events will be held at the Kissena Velodrome in Flushing, New York
And the events will be held under a USA Cycling and NYC Park event permits.
The events dates are the following:
Saturdays April 4, 11, May 2, 9, 16, 23, June 13, 20, July 18, August 8
