FBF 3-4 race June 27, 2006

Wind

Mmm, a windy Tuesday at FBF, where fortune favors the bold, a hard working attack can pay off, and you can rattle lot of apples out of the tree. The weather cooperated for about 6 hours on Tuesday, enough time to get in the Tuesday night Brooklyn Tour de France. My mid-season funk was still in force, but the heavy winds perked up my jerky and I was excited to race. The plan was standard windy FBF, gun it in the wind, break up the race, and collect accolades. If you wanted to sit in and race for the last 200 meters, last night was not for you.

The first three laps were pretty active, and the group was stringing out. The rubber band was stretching and it was only a matter of time before it broke. At or around lap four, the race was stretched out again. A Kissena guy made a move on the front, Dmitri covered it and after the Kissena guy came back, Dmitri was off the front by himself.
