More work on D’s bike. Here are the chainstays ready to cut:

The stays are held in place by the actual dropouts that will be used on the frame. The cutter is the same outside diameter as the BB shell. The plate to the right of the aluminum blocks is the where you’d expect the max. tire width. The blocks hold the stays in at the angle formed by the dropouts and the plate.

Note the cool stop motion flash effect. No blur, Andy! The creamy coffee looking liquid is a water-based coolant.

I’ve now got all the tubes cut and mitered except for the seat stays and the brake bridge. Next time the frame will go in the jig. We’ll cut and miter the seat stays, degrease and clean everything and tack the frame together. It will start to look like a frame.
