The frame is now fully brazed. I did it all except the dropouts. It’s a tricky process for a beginner, kind of like walking and chewing gum if you don’t know how to walk. You can’t melt the silver if the braze-ons are not hot enough, but if it’s too hot you can damage the tubing and make it hard for the silver to flow properly. Nothing was damaged, but a couple of spots had to be redone.
The sanding marks on the right stay are from sanding of the carbon from my first try. Silver doesn’t like to stick to carbon.
Next: Clean off the flux; ream, face, drill, tap; check alignment; paint. It should be on the road in 2 weeks.
