CRCA/Blue Ribbon-Translations.com Racing for 2006
The New York City-based CRCA/Blue Ribbon-Translations.com
cycling team returns for its 2006 season hoping to build on the successes of the past year, during which the team scored ten victories, nearly forty podium placings, and well over one hundred top-10 results. The squad remains intact from 2005 with the sole addition of Xavier Melendez, one of the fastest time trialists in New York and a veteran of many NRC events as well as the Irish Milk Ras. He joins sprinter Jeff King and climbing specialists Mark Alden and David Taylor in a versatile roster that promises to be a threat on all types of courses. In addition to defending its hard-fought victory in the CRCA Team Cup, a season-long series contested in Manhattan’s Central Park, the team will be focused on masters road and stage races up and down the East coast, including Fitchburg-Longsjo, Coupe des Ameriques, Green Mountain, and the U.S. masters national championships.
The team is pleased to announce that the Bromberg Brothers’ Blue Ribbon Restaurants will continue as title sponsor for a fourth consecutive year. Eric and Bruce Bromberg’s passion for cycling is only exceeded by their passion for food, and their five award-winning restaurants remain the destination of choice for discerning diners, after-hours chefs, and even seven-time Tour winners. Returning as presenting sponsor is Translations.com, delivering the world’s leading language solutions to e-businesses of all shapes and sizes. The team also enjoys the support of DPM Sports, US distributor of Spiuk and Kuips cycling products; Pennell Venture Partners; the Campmor Bike Shop in Paramus, NJ, one of the finest shops in the New York metropolitan area; and Giro helmets.
CRCA/Blue Ribbon-Translations.com is a registered sub-team of the Century Road Club Association, one of the oldest and largest bicycle racing clubs in the United States.

What’s teh deal with these guys and Foundation? I sense animosity.
you could sense animosity between foundation and a lot of teams…
BR is full of nice guys but is overrated. Five other teams had to totally drop the ball for those guys to win the Team Cup.
Artie,
You trying to stir the pot? Five teams messed up so one got to win?! The stars did line up for BR that day, but where were you in that last Team Cup Race? Were you on the front or in a break when we were doing 13:30 laps, or bringing back the move your team missed? Were you in the 7 man move that went with 3 miles to go (represented by virtually every contending team but one) that Visit Britian couldn’t bring back? Were you off the front half of the race w/ Ken Harris? Refresh my memory.
BR is full of nice guys but is overrated. Five other teams had to totally drop the ball for those guys to win the Team Cup.
Just telling it like it be.
The BR guys are hot! Especially that Matt Howard. He makes me randy.
I am sure the team kicks ass. i am sure they all make 6 figures+. Something is not right…… We a team that brings back cycling to its blue collar roots……
Something for everyone who likes to post (flame) without disclosing your true identity. Now you can go to j ail:

You guys bringing the BR show to Owasco this year? It’s in June this year I believe.
You are all so sued!!
Jason (if that is YOUR real name)-
First I dont consider calling people nice guys a “flame.” Second, you guys won–more power to ya–but no denying you won it on the last day in the last race. It was their for other teams to lose, they did, you stepped up–again more power to ya. Third, win the cup this year Ill admit Im wrong and it wasnt a fluke. Til then my opinion remains.
I don’t know what I ever did to deserve the mockery I get on this site. Schmalz, I’m suing you. I have it on good authority that we all make six figures, so I can now afford the finest legal counsel.
lee3, Owasco is July 22-23 this year, I believe. That’s the week before Christiana, so it might be harder to make it up there this year. Fun race though.
I think it’s a shame that this article doesn’t mention anything about Jeff King’s bladder capacity.
“Time me!”
–Jeff King peeing at the San Diego Velodrome, circa 1997
Artie, it was a general statement not aimed at anyone, but more of a FYI/PSA. Relax, I’m not going to try to get you thrown into jail — Schmalz might though.
