Profile: The core of this team has been together since 1998 as part of the Setanta team, and since then has also been known as Women’s Sports & Fitness. This longterm camaraderie, along with a desire to have fun, train hard, and sacrifice oneself for the benefit of the team, is one important reason for the team’s overall strength and ability to win. We also love hanging out with one another at the Columbus Bakery after a race, with coffee and oatmeal or coffeecake. New team members for 2005 are Angela Johnson, Ellen Moses, Randy Sharp, and Karen Ulrich.
Highlights ’04: Winning the women’s Cat. 4 GC at the Fitchburg-Longsjo Stage Race; 1st and 3rd in the cat. 4 women’s race at the Columbia University Grant’s Tomb Criterium; 4th in GC at Green Mountain Stage Race for cat. 4 women; road race and ITT medals at the Empire State Games; participating in the Wachovia Liberty Classic and New York City Championship pro women’s races, 6th place in the grueling Mt. Washington Hillclimb; winning the CRCA women’s team cup
What to expect in ’05: Mixing it up in various New England and Northeast races; winning the CRCA team cup again (and, if not, having fun in the process)
I thought yall were the anti-superteam? Now you’re a super-team too!!!?? WTF??!!!
What makes a team thats super a “SuperTeam” ? Super qualities like team spirit and willingness to train and race together and sacrifice – or a big budget ? My guess is this team is the former – which is super! Good luck and I hope Frances you didn’t take my advice and use Bici – d’oh! sorry if you did.
