Now that the race I don’t like to name is over, we can all resume the small amount of normalcy we permit our sad lives to have. Which, of course, means waking up at 3-something am to ride around in circles while wearing multi-colored (or in most cases these days, black) lycra, displaying our spring plumage (read: fat) for all to see.

On Sat there is a CRCA club race, with special guest appearances by an old farts field. There is also an open men and women’s racing clinic, details can be found here.

On Sun there is a Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup race in PP and all the way down in Marlton, NJ there is the BLP 2209 Grand Prix presented by Sommerville Sports. If you do well there, you can take the short trip to AC afterwards; losing all your winnings, dignity AND your last paycheck. FUN! And out in Queens, there is the Lucarelli & Castaldi 6 Days of Kissena #5 race, and that means KEIRINS for the M&W1/2/3 fields. Did I mention KEIRINS?!?!?!

which issues? we fixed one this AM with the article sub-heading but not aware of any others. browser, example of specific issue, etc would be helpful.

I believe the error he’s referring to is most often seen on older browsers. I know that when I browse the site from work, where my only option is IE 9, text wrapping doesn’t work properly for me either. There are often type “widows” at the beginning of lines, etc. I don’t see these issues on my up-to-date machine at home.

Hey thanks for that – our crack development team will hop on their vintage steel bikes to see if they can hammer the page display on IE back into shape …

I don’t disagree with you re IE 9 and employers, but that’s not the kind of thing we can control, obviously. And you’d be shocked at how many Fortune 500 companies are at least one browser behind. Since they pay the big bucks we need to pay for all this bike stuff, resistance is kind of futile 🙂

you are aware that IE9 is way more than 1 browser version behind, right? and that IE isn’t even a thing anymore? like, it’s totally dead? but no, i am not surprised and nor am i subjected to harsh corporate computer usage policies. unless you consider being forced to do the hangover and hopefuls harsh. (help, they don’t let me out of the cage or feed me that often)

I’m a Firefox guy myself, but you’d be surprised how many places don’t give you the option of an alternative browser. The situation is compounded by the widespread adoption of SharePoint as a knowledge management platform in corporate America. And even if you can get an alternative browser installed on a Fortune 500 machine, SharePoint only “plays” with IE.

I’m not pro IE by any stretch, but the newest version works quite well. Now, if you want to talk about something that’s become utter crap, let’s talk about Flash. I’d much rather that die and developers use HTML 5 and other technologies to replace it because there are many sites where it just flat out doesn’t work.

using IE is like riding a brakeless track bike through midtown traffic while wearing headphones. Not necessarily illegal, but anything that happens to you while doing it is generally considered to be your responsibility.
That said, I embrace all forms of internetting (and reckless biking) so I’ll look into it, as time permits.
Josh, you get those amazing foodmeal pellets twice a day, why are you complaining.
