Hopeful Friday April 18, 2014

Wheat Thins…

It’s another Friday and the voices in my head are compelling me to write about the upcoming events for this weekend, they are also telling me to lay off the Wheat Thins, but that’s NOT happening.

On Saturday, there’s the Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup race in Prospect Park.

There’s also a CRCA club race and Men’s and Women’s racing clinic in Central Park.

Up North in Vermont, there’s the Raputitsa in Newport on Saturday also, it’s suppsoed to be a dirty one.

And on Sunday, there’s a Spring Series race at FBF.

There, the voices are happy now, so I shall celebrate with some Wheat Thins.

Congrats to Charlie I for yet another sell-out, stacked & loaded field for Luceralli & Castaldi event #2 @ Prospect Park. How so many of us be could okay with a 3:15 AM wake up to make a 6 AM start is just mind-boggling to me (me being one of those sooo many). Props to Charlie I for making this sort of pleasure/pain a reality!!

315 wakeup for 6? you have at the very least another half hour, unless you are driving from pa or something

Please tell your young teammate #353 to PLEASE stay out of the joggers’ lane — he’s going to ruin it for all of us. He did it every time on the downhill (when it’s entirely unnecessary). I’d have told him myself but could not find him at the finish (having gotten crashed out in the last 200m).

Thanks. And stay safe everyone.

a little south of the carousel this morning. I got whacked in the chest while warming up. They were quite brazen about it – standing on the side of the road.

A 3:15 wakeup allows plenty of relaxed time to Organize a Gran Fondo in the early morning.

Not sure the timing of this schedule makes much sense on the 1 mile course unless cat 5’s doing 60 mph and masters doing 40!

Start Times:

7:00 AM Cat 3,4— 20 Laps

7:45 AM Masters 45+ — 20 Laps

8:15 AM Cat 5 — 15 Laps

8:30 AM Pro,1,2,3 — 30 La

Great race today, thanks to Charlie I and all the workers who made it a positive, safe experience.

Why is FBF so early? Can’t I sleep in on a weekend and still race my bike around here?
