This is it, the acme of the season for the hopelessly obsessive! It is Battenkill weekend, so wrap up your tire pressure email discussions, pack up every piece of clothing you own and head up north, where conditions have been described as everything from “not bad” to “hellishly calamitous”. In the meantime, many of us do not have the opportunity to race the Nerdy Derby up north, so let’s see what the other options for bike racing are.
Firstly, Battenkill is Saturday and Sunday, registration is closed, but why not head up on a whim and see if you can sign up, you know, for fun.
If you are staying close to home, Saturday is the first round of the Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup in Prospect Park.
In New Jersey on Saturday is the 2014 Cherry Blossom Challenge at Branchbrook Park in Newark.
Sunday there’s a Spring Series Race in Central Park.
And also on Sunday, there’s the 2014 Bethel Spring Series – Circuit Francis J Clarke – p/b Outdoor Sports Center in Bethel, CT.
