Vestigial limb here

Hey it’s the NYVC vestigial limb here mailing in your Hopeful while Schmalz drives through the Midwest sampling sausage and twerking.

There’s a CRCA club race in Central Park Saturday, as well as the Trooper David Brinkerhoff Memorial Race Series in Coxsackie, and the Lucarelli and Castaldi Branchbrook Series in Newark.

The Spring Series is in Prospect Park Sunday, and the Bethel Spring Series is in eponymous.

Cat [1,2,3,4,5] field fixed gear crit in the rain. Yep, the qualifiers should be a bit interesting.

After I asked for the results, this was the response:

” For points races we traditionally only publish results for those that earned points.

If you’d like to have results posted including for those that did not score any points I’m happy to pass that request on to the board”

Racers who want to see how they finished and have thier USA cycling points registed, I recommend you have your voice heard by not taking part of CRCA points races until they go back to the way it was done for years.

Cece Sealant

No points for CRCA races (the non-open races). It’s a club race that’s not open to all, so even though they report the results (which is nice of them) you can’t use them to upgrade.

Froomestrong

@cece. That’s the way it should be. But from what I understand people are getting their Cat2 upgrade in club races. If that is the case, it is ridiculous and unfair to those that got their upgrade racing against an open field of riders. I’m curious to know what the regional USAC coordinator thinks, Randy?

Adam Internal Routing

Definitely do not count for upgrade points. They may count for that whole USAC ranking nonsense where you can get your ranking against other Cat 4’s aged 32 to 34 in a given zip code or whatever, but that whole thing (a) has nothing to do with upgrade points and (b) is a joke made for everyone who spends too much time obsessing over strava KOM’s and needs something else to try to brag about.

Alexandre Dry Lube

Club races are liberating not having pts on the line. It allows one to try shit. Hopeless attacks, racing as training etc

Matteo Clearcoat

Never knew about those USAC ranking until now. Turns out I’m the best time trialist in zip code 10018. I’ll spend the rest of today boasting around the office.

the incredulous hulk

the list of guys/girls scoring points is in fact the “full” results

if you didn’t score any points, you don’t have a placing.

HOW CAN YOU HAVE A PLACING IF YOU DIDN’T SCORE ANY POINTS?

wheelsucker

The nutbar OP is likely looking for a 4->3 upgrade based on participation in mass start events.

Gabriel Helmet

i am just flabbergasted that people want their placing from the FINISH of a points race………….you do understand its a points race right????? If the points are 5 deep at the finish and you come in 6th you SCORE NO POINTS AND THEREFORE CANNOT BE SCORED IN THE FINAL RESULT.

Its amazing that people don’t even know the most basic rules.

Bartolo Lorica

If you don’t have any points you are listed based on the final finish. So if you get 6th in the final sprint and did not score points, but 9 others did, you would be 10th, and so on.
