Welcome to the Tue, 06/14/2011 – 06:00 edition of Off Topic! You are looking at the next step in the evolution of VCN, the Off-Topic page. Have you ever been frustrated because you had a burning desire to call someone a sandbagger and could only hope to be timely by posting your comment to a photo gallery page or on a page describing a charity ride?
Well, your prayers have been answered! You can post your comment from the home page and it magically comes to rest here with the other orphans from the land of Misfit Comments. The page gets refreshed every day, but not to worry! Each day’s page will be archived and treasured, so you can look back on past pages with pride, shame or disgust-depending on how the day’s conversation went. So post away! We’ve got an internet to fill up.
Harlem Crit course is a mess. The north side of Marcus Garvey Park (123rd st) is in the middle of being repaved and the roadway is torn up. There is also a construction crane blocking 1/2 of 123rd St near the first turn. What are DOT plans to complete the roadwork and will the crane be moved. Unless these things are done the course appears to be unsafe.
Toto
FBF status from Charlie:
Tonight’s race is on as scheduled. Remember, we race rain or shine. Races are only cancelled if the course is flooded and with no heavy rain predicted today we do not anticipate the course will be flooded.
I’m sure JDE and his crew on top of things. I’m sure they have been in touch with the DOT to get the street re-paved.
