Off-Topic for 05/26/2011 – 06:00

Welcome to the Tue, 05/26/2011 – 06:00 edition of Off Topic! You are looking at the next step in the evolution of VCN, the Off-Topic page. Have you ever been frustrated because you had a burning desire to call someone a sandbagger and could only hope to be timely by posting your comment to a photo gallery page or on a page describing a charity ride?

Well, your prayers have been answered! You can post your comment from the home page and it magically comes to rest here with the other orphans from the land of Misfit Comments. The page gets refreshed every day, but not to worry! Each day’s page will be archived and treasured, so you can look back on past pages with pride, shame or disgust-depending on how the day’s conversation went. So post away! We’ve got an internet to fill up.

we are heaing late fall, and only if we can help the Palisades Interstate Park pay for it, which is cash strapped and spending is paving budget on the parkway. donations from the NYC bike community are being matched 2:1 from a PIP donor, and the paving will last 15 years once complete.

Thanks Dave! we’re talking to the park about some other ways they can improve safety for bicyclists to go along with the repaving. anyone who wants more info or to donate please email me at steely @ transalt.org all contributions are tax deductible. we need to raise $75k, are we are a bit more than a third of the way there already. the repaving will cost about $225k and last 15 years

is there a direct link to the donation site? there’s a lot going on at the transalt website, and i might be an iDOT, but i couldn’t find anywhere to give money to this project.
