Off-Topic for 07/24/2010 – 02:10

Welcome to the Tue, 07/24/2010 – 02:10 edition of Off Topic! You are looking at the next step in the evolution of VCN, the Off-Topic page. Have you ever been frustrated because you had a burning desire to call someone a sandbagger and could only hope to be timely by posting your comment to a photo gallery page or on a page describing a charity ride?

Well, your prayers have been answered! You can post your comment from the home page and it magically comes to rest here with the other orphans from the land of Misfit Comments. The page gets refreshed every day, but not to worry! Each day’s page will be archived and treasured, so you can look back on past pages with pride, shame or disgust-depending on how the day’s conversation went. So post away! We’ve got an internet to fill up.

Third hand – he’s in Kings Cty hospital with serious injuries – broken collarbone, possible collapsed lung, bruises and a concussion. Sounds like he’ll be ok, but a lot to recover from.

thanks for the update. was a few riders behind and it looked very nasty. he seemed in a lot of pain and i was a bit worried about his head injury. lot of blood. i hope he recovers quickly. i am so tired of these serious crashes in the park. i think i have seen more serious crashes this year in nyc than i did racing for many years in the uk and spain. i know it’s a risk of the sport but this is totally out of control. the master’s race last week was a complete joke. at this rate we risk being kicked out of the parks all together.

there does seem to be carnage this year…which is odd because spring series was pretty much crash free. Ironically I don’t think the parks dept cares one way or another about what happens to cyclists in races, as long as no one else gets hurt and they don’t get sued.

on a happier note everyone I know of who got injured earlier this season is racing again.
