It’s been a crazy few days in cycling, with a very compelling Giro ongoing and an exciting ToC finale. And apparently there’s also something else overshadowing it.
Locally, Mark Alden, Anne Marie Miller, Kevin Rooney, and Andrew Clerico won the A, W, B, and C fields respectively. Results here.
Eric Ragot, Celestino Hernandez, Danny Inoa, and Kevin Schmitt won the 3, 4, 40+ and 5 fields at theCedar Creek Crit. Results here.
The Eastmans were the most gentlemanly of the lot at the Rapha Race, with CRCAers Ira Blumberg, Time Voake, and Etsu Taniguchi among the team members.
Brian Breach, Erick Post, and Edwin Duarte won the P123, 4, and 5 fields at the King’s County Kermesse. Results here.
Tour de Syracuse news is still spotty, but Ken H tells us that Jeff Ingraham got 2nd in the P12 GC, winning the crit as well. CRCA juniors Sam Morkal-Williams and Wei Chen were 2nd in GC in junior men 13-14 and 17-18 respectively. The team brought five riders up, and all were top ten. Renne Engelhardt, Mitch Jacaruso and Lenny Galati of NYelocity got 2nd, 3rd and 1st over all in the in Women’s 4, Men’s 4 and Men’s 5 categories.
Finally, a poll question. Is the reign of terror finally over? Are we witnessing a new dawn in professional cycling? I mean, we were all sick of Levi winning the ToC every year, right?
First, wonder if Levi will ever make it into future Visit California advertisements?
“It’s a RadioShack sandwich.”
wilimington results up anywhere?

Sean Smith won the 2/3 race in Wilmington.
If you knew already, why ask?
I flew by Sean Smith commuting home on the west side highway path last week.
Nope, same old sun.
Any way that Charlie can do a hostile takeover of the spring series? Such a joy attending such a well run race, having results posted a few hours after the race and actually having them reported to USA Cycling.
I didn’t know. Is it actually inconceivable that results can be found for a race in about an hour?
1) Get glasses at LensCrafters
2) Save 15% on your car insurance by switching to Geico
3) Get dropped by Roger A. in any out of town race you attend.
4) Get results posted from a well run local race
Ryder Hesjedal- a force to be reckoned with
george hincapie may be our own locally grown prodigy but he has the winning instincts of pot smoker.
ummm, negative posts about GH violate the unwritten rules around here
he got a little boxed in. sometimes a guy who’s been in a break for 50 miles is less fresh than a guy who got across in the last 5 miles.
great race to watch.
Do you get that little less than fresh feeling after being in a break for 50 miles?
i feel fresher after 50 miles than i do after 50 seconds of reading comments here on nyvc.
The Blue Ribbon Team rocked the CRCA A points race to full effect. Great team work and nice win boys!

you wouldn’t happen to be a blue ribbon rider, would you?
The C’s putting in 2 consecutive sub 14 mins laps…I’m impressed!
mmmm…?
if rules are unwritten, then they’re not rules. even if there is a rule, i don’t care. hincapie is a doper, just like the rest of them. his results are a fraud.

oh man, if i were that serene i would start a cult
you’re a puerile jackass. we gots rules, and theyre unwritten. keep your trap shut and pay attention and you’ll learn ’em, or they’ll be learned to you.
Dirk@10:44AM It helps when the promoter has OCD.
Be happy there’s more than one decent promoter in the area. If Charlie ran everything and then decided to move to Cali, it would be a mess.
For local races, all I care about is whether they are safe or not. If you were around when Craig Roberts promoted a few park races, you know what a clusterfuck these things can be.
Performance enhancing drugs. Should be a good show. 7-8 pm.
ooh, learned a new word today: puerile. thanks nyvelocity!
you mama, don’t forget you’re a roadie. in other words, you’re a wimp. the only thing you could “learn to” somebody is how to pose.

“I ate like four boxes of cookies and was dizzy for a while, so I never did that again.”
