FBF Status Page 5/11/2010

Check here for the race status

The concept for this page is simple, we will let you know whether the race will be happening. Charlie will text us if the status changes, and then we will post the change on this page in the comments section. This should go without saying but, DO NOT TRUST A POSTING FROM ANYONE EXCEPT A SIGNED IN MEMBER OF THE NYVC STAFF, i.e. myself, Andy, Aaron or Alex. FBF is a blood sport and I’m sure that some teams would even stoop to trickery in order to keep their competition at home, so check the log in names.

Additional information from Charlie:

Just a reminder there will be a separate women’s race at Floyd Bennett tonight.  The race will start at 6:30PM and women can then race in the men’s races at 7PM for free if they want some extra racing.

Just a reminder to those that raced in last week’s race – use your same # from last week for the entire series.

Important FBF Info:

1. We race rain or shine. Only if the course is flooded is the race canceled.

2. If you raced last week, use the same number this week. Use the same number for the entire series.

1J2. It is the rider‟s responsibility to enter a race in the proper class and category [disqualification and 30 day suspension for competing in the wrong class or category]. The fact that the registrars accepted the incorrect entry will not be taken as an excuse.

First the kid is killed for sandbagging before bumping up and now he is disqualified for racing in the wrong cat.

He should stick to racing dirt.

Amerigo Supple

Thats a manly DQ. Getting DQed for schooling a higher Cat of racers is rediculous. maybe his 4th place is enough for a cat 3 upgrade. Rules… nice job

Liam Tubie

He is now a Cat 3 and took 4th last night in the Pro1/2 race at FBF. Now you can come up with another excues for coming in 30th.

yo!

but i don’t see where “catching a break” is part of it. not exactly bad luck or misfortune to enter the wrong race.

700x25

Liam- read first, then comment.
Furthermore there was no bitching- I just think the kid can’t catch a break: first burned for sandbagging and then gets a DQ for smacking down the big boys.

Matthias Bearing

he entered 3/4 last week. 1/2/3 this week. Did he apply for the upgrade and not get it? Is his support request pending and he raced 1/2/3 anyway? Or did he never apply for the upgrade?

Or is the information the official had out of date and his DQ unfair?

Jarne Lube

eh, doesn’t matter. he still made the break and got 4th. he’ll be a cat 3 when someone decides to check their email.

Matthias Helmet

Why, in an age where I can read news about the death of a celebrity minutes after it happens, does USA Cycling have such a ridiculously arcane upgrade system? Rather than spend our annual dues paying for unnecessary bureaucracy in Colorado Springs, they should upgrade the race permitting system to enable promoters to enter the length of each event along with number of starters, then add results to determine automatic upgrades.

Freaking little league.
