This weekend, Saturday’s pleasant weather gave way to Sunday’s moist revenge, leaving the racing to only the hardiest among us or those too thrifty to pre-register for a race and not take part.
At the Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup on Saturday, Anthony "Ricky" Lowe of Die Hard – Think Racing won the Pro/123 race in a field sprint. Christopher Barbaria of Affinity Cycles won the cat 4 race. Aviv Maizlin of the Hudson Furniture Racing Team won the cat five race. Results are here.

At the NJBA Team Challenge, YSG Racing won the senior men’s category; Pro Pedals won the women’s category; Pro Pedals won the 35+ category; Liberty Cycle won the 45+ category; and David Casale of Tri State Velo won the category 4/5 race. Results are here.
No official results yet for the Cape May Time Trial, but the scuttlebutt is that Kenneth Lundgren of Blue Ribbon Restaurants – Translations.com won.
The Spring Series is still maintaining strict radio silence, but be sure to check their Twitter account for information.
No results are posted for Quabbin yet, but early indications say that the Rapha Condor Sharp team took first and second on the pro race with Roger Aspholm of Westwood Velo third.
Gina’s shots from the Spring series are up at the Organic site. There’s your best shot at figuring out results.
Nice to finally have a stop to all the cat 4s crying about Sniadowski Nice result in a stacked 123 field Way to go against all those emaciated cat 1’s ! Polska!
what was his result? Anthony Lowe and Gavin are emaciated? Get out much?

sandbagger! he needs to go pro
Lundgren’s position looks like it was outlawed 3 rule revisions ago.
Let’s face it, the P123 races in the parks are overwhelmingly cat 3. If there were 15 cat 1s out of that 110 man field, I’d be really surprised.
I’m now not positive where you’re getting your info, however good topic.
I must spend a while studying more or understanding more.
Thank you for wonderful information I was looking for this info for my mission.

Not on Saturday
Looks like ALL fields were combined yesterday due to low turnout
Any comment by AVD on how he plans to reimburse us for the TT from hell?
He said he’s going to re-run it.
ss – what a joke
not to the guys that gleefully had an opportunity to race in miserable weather yesterday
Not to dogpile AVD again with insults and vitriol, but someone needs to complain to USACycling about him and his lack of race organization. The TT results were thrown up yesterday AM before the start of the last race, and they were riddled with problems. These were brought to his attention, which just confused him further. Frank Arroyo still wins the 1/2s, er, wait, he’s in the Master’s field, er wait, he’s part of the women’s field. Wait… I know its joke to expect something serious and professional from him and his org, but this year has seen new lows.
Minturn – wins Claymont Classic in DE
Mathis – 2nd at Stage 3 Vuelta de Bisbee
Quabbin results on bikereg
Rapha condor … Seems like they put the smack down on this weekend
Van Dunk didn’t even pay out for the TT results either, yet somehow managed to figure the overall season results. All while avoiding the question as to whether the TT results factored in or not. He may have a strangle hold on the series, but there are plenty of other things to do in the spring. Folks should just boycott his races.

I agree with you, everyone that complains like you do should boycott things they complain about, speak by your actions. But there were plenty of riders this spring who were happy with AVDs races because they don’t take it so seriously, lighten up. Maybe it was a mistake to include a TT in the spring series because it does tend to attract the tri-athlete mentality. I like the road races he puts on, competition is good and just what’s needed to get into shape quickly.
oh, and if you were there Sunday, you’d get your TT payout, it was announced at the race.
Actually, when guys went to get paid he said he’d mail it and the results were under review.
How long (distance) are the laps @ FBF?
2.3 miles
Who is the official at the SS races? You should complain to the chief ref as it is their responsibility to get the results out. Get the CR’s name and complain to USCF about them. How can you protest results if there are none?
I agree that some folks don’t take the SS seriously and it is just an opporunity to race into shape, but what about those that do take it seriously? I don’t see AVD giving any refunds or dropping the price on his poorly run races?
Wanting, even expecting results, is not taking it too seriously. Branchbrook, Bethel, Charlie, Johnny Cake all seemed to run spring events that had results. They may not have been posted in high profile places, and they may not have all been official points series but the races happened. Should people take these things seriously? Whenever two or more line up to ‘race’ someone is going to want to win. AvD hands out points and money each week and at the end there is a thropy for the winner. Someone is going to want that. If you look at the Mengoni site Wilson’s resume boasts winning the spring series 5 (or 6, I forget) times. Clearly it matters enough to list it. Is it the nationals or worlds? Clearly not, but it’s still a race. In this case Anthony did his own series a wrong because there wasn’t any transparency in the decisions he made about the TT gone wrong, or how it effected the points series. He avoided the subject right up until race time Sunday. Again, it isn’t the end of the world but with Charlie doing more spring races, a bunch of things worth traveling to, as well as club races the fields are likely to continue to dwindle at what should be a really fun and competitive spring tradition.
2.3 feels like 3.3 when it’s windy
When it’s windy, 2.3 can also turn into -5.
WTF is wrong with you?
i believe that you answered your own question
who’s the metra wendy’s guy who won? doesn’t even look like he got wet in the process.
where’s the beef?
Nikolai Masluk of Wendy’s Metra
Too fucking long for the same old bullshit
the rainy shots are awesome. nice work Gina
AND by the way, that would be a repeat performance by Nikolai as he crushed it the day before – on Saturday in Trenton @ the Team Challenge!! The man is on fire. In case you didn’t see the results & write up from Saturday here it is:
1st place was Team Metra consisting of Nikolia Masluk, Stephan Dioslaki, Greg Leach, Greg Batista, and David Martin.
Van Deisel came in 2nd with William Elliston, Gie Neilson, Edwin Bull and ??? two others.
Liberty Cycle who came in third
Northeast Hardware was 4th.
While the weather was pretty, the racing wasn’t …It was an all-out major haul ass grind for the 35 lap, 1.1 mile loop. By virtue of design, the race was destined to be a slugfest (but who would imagined it to be literally just that)…the way it worked was each team was allowed to enter only five guys and each lap was a sprint for points for 1st & 2nd place. And each fifth lap went 4 deep. After numerous assaults and attacks a twelve or so man breakaway ensued. This elite group consisted of: Elliston, Gee Neilson, and Edwin Bull – all of Van Dessel, Rosenhaus and Raffie of Northeast, Dioslaki, Masluk, Leach, and Batista – all of Metra, Steve Ward, John Durso and ?? guy of Liberty. Needless to say , these 4 teams were quite well represented and therefore would have the race locked up. Emotions flared as two riders exchanged words whilst hammering along in the break….this actually lead to a few physical exchanges in which racers pushed, shoved trying to take each other out…after the battle for victory of real reason we all came to the race had concluded, this battle of sorts continued on the sidelines. KUDOS to head race official Dan Donnely who threw himself between the two over-adrenalineized racers causing the situation to diffuse!! Wonder who would have won ?!?! Regardless of that….the results are out for the “real fightâ€!! By unanimous decision….
were ronnie or jwoww involved?
