Chore argument

Time challenged

Today’s argument is a user submission, which I adore, as it allows me more time for hand bell choir practice. It is also about a topic which is thankfully the opposite of people racing brakeless bicycles in the dark.
With so little time available for racing, training and general mightiness upkeep, which life duties or chores can or should be farmed out in order to make time to ride your bike? Should one hire a landscaper? A maid? Perhaps a manservant? Personally, I have discovered that my daughters not only have a talent for yard work, their tiny hands are perfectly suited for gutter cleaning.

I used to pride myself that I actually cut my own grass. I was the only hold out on my suburban cul de sac. I did this for years. Then a few years ago as I was sweating my ass off cutting the grass on a 95 deg. day after getting home from a race I saw the light. At $20 a cut, it saves me 1-1/2 hours a week, a lot of physical effort, and gets done better than I could ever do myself. It’s absolutely worth it!

Where can one get feed of the race again? Dan, you had some website you suggested last time I asked but I can’t remember now.

Cut the grass? Isn’t that why I got married? While I’m soaking in an ice bath my wife takes care of the kids, mows the lawn, and washes my dirty chamois. It was detailed in our ketubah and signed off by the rabbi, so it’s legit under Jewish law. Baruch HaShem!

I’d never try to finish drywall again. That was a long summer. I hired a guy to finish my kitchen and it cost $350.
