Awesome 2nd frame–Jon Heder in Blades of Glory!
“This ends tonight.”
“It’s daytime, you moron.”

I think this one might be my all time fav. It’s got Borat, Blonde Borat (Vino) Tom Delay, Unfrozen Caveman Merckx, Megoladon vs. Giant Squid, a 30 Rock homage, and so much more.
I believe the Oracle would agree this atones for the Kenny Labbe ignorance 😀
And for those that don’t get all the TV references, it’s time to spend more hours on the bike. That goes hand in hand with more hours on the couch. If you do it right.

This toto is chalk full. Funny one.

For what its worth though – Cadel was friggen robbed in Spain – for real. He suffers a flat, the team car gets screwed (he was third in GC for chrissakes, traffic or goat trails, whatever, officials should make sure the high GC team cars are NOT OBSTRUCTED – it just shits on the racing experience) boooo to spain, and then they gave’em 10 sec. relegation for taking a water bottle while he was pushin his eyeballs out trying to get back into the thing to protect his time AND to make YOUR race exciting!
I’m really glad he stomped up the Worlds – how fkn poetic was it that he launched from Rodriguez!

He looked a little wierd kissing that ring at the finish line though. I thought he was gonna start lubin the thing up to give it a weeny job or somethin. Hats off Aussie – wierd or not wierd – gutsy smart riding and a proven champion for sure (get the guy some quality domestiques Lotto!! you fricken cheap bastards). Dont wait until you lose your protour lic.
Thanks to Cadel you’re lucky ya still have it. (cheap bastids)

…a new eddy merckx “allegory” in le tour de toto…

…& i may have swine flu ‘cuz i’ve gone all soft on cadel…never a fan, i gotta agree he got hosed in spain but more so, i was actually glad to see him aggressive & savvy enough to take that world’s win…
…what is happening pour moi ???…

…oh well, c’est la vie…love, bgw…

Wheelbilly

Yep, Cadel finally got his jello. I want to see a picture of Cadel victoriously holding up a jello mold like Devolder did with the Applebees appetizers.

Cadel robbed in Spain? Seriously? Did I miss something and he was already 1st in GC when he flatted? Without flatting, maybe he would’ve won, maybe not. That’s like someone swiping your scratch-off lottery game and claiming you’re out $1,000 because it would’ve been a winner.

He was aggressive in the Worlds RR? Again, seriously? OK, he was aggressive in the last 3 miles of a roughly 160 mile race, I’ll grant him that. Hats off to him, he rode a smart conservative race, attacked at the right moment and won.

I guess I’m just not getting the warm and fuzzies… apologies.

…i wasn’t suggesting evans was robbed of the win in spain but i felt in that particular case he was “robbed” of the accommodation that would be afforded a leading spanish rider under the same circumstances…
…would it have changed the outcome ???…dunno but i guarantee it certainly created a lotta turmoil n’ anxiety for a leading protagonist…
…& everybody handles that stuff differently but hey, “it is what it is”…

…as regards worlds…notice i used two words, “aggressive & savvy” together…
…201 guys started that race…262.2 k’s or 162.56 mi…after the usual back n’ forth throughout the day, evans, like any smart rider was monitoring cancellara in particular & marking any action around the swiss team…

…therein lies a balance…aggressive & savvy enough to read & go w/ what “looks” to be the right move but not so soon as to go w/ an ill-fated break…

…i’m not a fan of cadel evans in any way, shape or form but i give him credit for being a smart little fucker…he was strong & aggressive enough to be there after a lotta miles & a lotta those 201 guys were burned up & spit out & yet smart enough to read both his competition & the flow of the race…

…& while it may have only been 4 k’s, it was perfectly timed & the most aggressive move of the day ‘cuz it bloody well worked…the russian kolobnev prob’ly would a’ killed evans in a sprint but he didn’t have the strength to bridge & rodriguez just sat on…

…anyway, we both know in a perfect world cancellara would a’ been wearing double rainbow stripes in mendrisio…but again “it is what it is”

Correction – cadel lost the yellow after losing his cool on gesink on the finishing sprint a couple of stages prior not on the stage that he flatted. On that flatting stage he wore the white jersey. Ok….’accomodations of a leading spanish rider’ seems appropriate – in other words he kinda got the shaft any way ya slice it. His team car should have been there waaaaayy sooner than it got there – period. He was screwed.
Worlds – Cadel played the cards he was dealt and played them masterfully. It was pretty much a textbook one day victory. Everybody knew Fab wanted it, everybody knew Rodriguez and the russian had the legs – Cadel was one of the only riders that knew when to open up the hurtbox at the right time. If you look back on all of his efforts, he’s sorta the guy that bides his time of being with the right group at the right time before going all in @ 3K or so to go. he’s always ridden that way. Its not an exciting strategy but thats his thing. If you cant hurt cadel early he’ll hurt ya later.
I’m stoked that he shat on rodriguez near the end. So poetic.

And on another note – the whole Cadel Evens never attacks line is fricken horse poo. I grow weary of hearing dudes say that he attack enough. Listen, Clint Eastwood said it best “A man’s got to know his limitations…”. The Aussie just knows. Sometimes he over extends when he shouldnt and loses it when he needs it – for instance (he needed it for that timetrial @ the Giro. I’d like to see’em be a little more successful with that strategy but guys just know how to get rid of ya when they know what you’re about. He played it to a T at the Vuelta but it just didnt work out. @ the tour he missed that all important split and had a shell of a team to help’em get back into it.

…& that’s the beauty that is you…attention deficit discombobulation…too much input = clue nada…

…as was stated 38 seconds ago, “Clint Eastwood said it best “A man’s got to know his limitations…”…& you sir certainly know yours…

…i agree w/ you…

Thanks for the Blades man!
I posted on the last Toto about Andy having the Blades of Glory & now you’ve done it!
I have to admit that it was my wife who started calling him Blades after watching the Alp d’Huez stage last year and it has just stuck with me and a few buddies.
Keep up the good work Andy!
