Welcome to the Tue, 09/18/2009 – 02:10 edition of Off Topic! You are looking at the next step in the evolution of VCN, the Off-Topic page. Have you ever been frustrated because you had a burning desire to call someone a sandbagger and could only hope to be timely by posting your comment to a photo gallery page or on a page describing a charity ride?
Well, your prayers have been answered! You can post your comment from the home page and it magically comes to rest here with the other orphans from the land of Misfit Comments. The page gets refreshed every day, but not to worry! Each day’s page will be archived and treasured, so you can look back on past pages with pride, shame or disgust-depending on how the day’s conversation went. So post away! We’ve got an internet to fill up.

Can’t these wheel stories be posted at a time when they’d get maximum readership from like-minded riders – say, New Year’s Eve around 11 pm?
Prospect race tomorrow! The Catch Kissena Race takes place tomorrow in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. It’s the final Prospect Park race of the year and features a unique race format. All members of the Kissena Cycling Club will start first followed by the Pro/1-2-3 field. Everybody races for the same prize list so the Pro/1-2-3 field must catch the Kissena riders in order to place. This is the fourth year will be holding this race. The first two years the Kissena riders were caught. Last year the Kissena riders stayed away. This is a fun race and forces everybody to start racing from the gun – much more exciting than an average Prospect Park Race.
There is no Category 4 race but there is a separate Cat 5 race.

I also deny the Berto rumor, he needs to go to Caisse or another Spanish team. Going to Garmin would majorly alter the quantum wave function!
If Johnny V wants to keep the team American, signing Berto would only change it to Spanish, you think Berto is going to win the Tour and even speak English to anyone? Why would he…
