We are all very lazy.
We caught up with Dr. Eric Heiden (former speed skater, pro cyclist, current orthopedic surgeon and slacker) and talked about everything except the Olympics.

I’m first!!!
dude is awesome
ack! dammit … got sucked into this link thinking there was a transcript. damn your feeble lazality.
(thanks again, tho. but taking off the TdS for a birth in the family? what kind of priorities are those?)
Those are priorities that keep me married.
but being ‘first!!!’ when no one is racing for it = “winning” a charity ride
what of those of us who work in places that frown upon non-work topics? Audio doesn’t make it easy, you know…
I know, I know, but transcribing takes a long time. Maybe you can listen from home?
When I buy new bikes I have to hide them. I don’t know how well that would go over. hmmmm……perhaps CJ will throw a listening party. We can all gather around the fireplace….
is someone going to ask for a transcription EVERY time a new interview is posted?
nice interview
does he still race?
cool! Heiden is the best athlete in the world!
500-15000meters!
Imagine Nelson Vails winning Philly!
Actually he did the 500m, 1000m, 1500m, 5000m and 10,000m!!
this was a fun and interesting interview, i enjoyed it more than the back and forth with VDV on a bad cell connection or dare I say it, Creed. but, knowing your nature, I wish you well.
btw, i wonder what it would be like to get Toto to sit down with an italo-anglo intepreter and Schmalz gets to try to explain the fixation this website has with Toto.
In fact, I think would enter the truly “can’t really interpret this” realm. but, maybe the awkwardness of the interview would be the entertainment, and Schmalz would be crestfallen, and Toto would be scratching his head.
Kind of like a clash of civilzation like Woody Allen appearing in ads in Japan. Or Ben Stiller as podium girl in the TDF.
You should put your podcast on Itunes.
they are mp3 files damn it!
it’s the nature of the mp3 that makes it a podcast. you obtuse fuck.
great interview. Thanks for doing this
Eric Heiden is one of the most amazing people ever. He also seems like such a nice, humble guy.
Great interview.
Whoever did this interview is dufus. Obviously he knows nothing about cycling or Heiden. He couldn’t even pronounce Jim Ochowicz’ name and probably doesn’t know who Jim is or who he’s married to.
