Sandy Hook TT (4/4/2009)

Sandy/Windy/Wet Hook Time Trial

Today was the Sandy Hook Time Trial.  The temperature was relatively warm, with the exception of the high winds.  The winds made it feel like it was 35 degrees.  They were gusting from any where between 35-50 mph, with the highest gusts right next to the unprotected bay.  Sand was blowing across the TT course and ocean mist was drenching riders.  I asked one guy how todays winds effected his time.  He told me his fitness is a little stronger this year and he has the same equipment, but he lost 30 sec off last years time.  I always enjoy photographing the Sandy Hook TT, there are some spectacular backdrops- such as the missles and the ocean.  I took a few hundred photos and probably captured 75% of the riders.  My gallery of images from this event can be found here:  http://www.cyclingcaptured.com/gallery/7804458_7MpRK

Here’s a quick sample, enjoy!
