The “gotham guy” is 16 or 17 years old, and will be flying soon enough.
You can see how small the junior’s gearing is compared with the typical 53/39 of the guy to the right. Looks almost like a cross crankset.

every racer (and non-racer) in the organic photos, for as long as i can remember, look terrible? there’s either snot dripping out of their nose, or they were caught at exactly the wrong moment and look like they have downs syndrome? the sole reason can’t just be because a flash picture is just so unflattering.

You sound ungrateful. The pictures are a wonderful thing. Take, for example, this week when there are no pictures and everybody goes nuts.
Organic shots are among the best because they’re usually done close up and really capture the individual person(s). I think they’re terrific!
