Sun, September 21st:
The YMCA of SECT will host the 2nd Annual Rose Pedal Criterium.
Tuesday September 16th is Deadline to get Race Discount @ the Holiday Inn of Norwich,
On Saturday evening, following the Sprague race, there will be a Wine Tasting and pasta dinner free for all staff, volunteers, cyclists and sponsors.
The Holiday Inn also offers transportation to the Mohegan Sun throughout Sat evening for those who wish to visit the Casinos and shops.
The YMCA of SECT will also offer a meal package, value $8.00, to participating cyclists of the Rose Pedal Criterium. Several Downtown Restaurants will accept the official food voucher for the cyclist on Sunday September 21, 2008. The meal is only offered to participating cyclists in the Rose Pedal Criterium. Norwich welcomes riders and their families; we hope visitors take the opportunity to relax, enjoy local cuisine as they watch cyclists whip around Historic Downtown Norwich.
The downtown area will be closed to traffic from Main St at the County Courthouse (Shannon Square), up Main, down to Chelsea Drive and returning to the courthouse, a .6 mile loop.
To entice the cyclists to eat at the local establishments the YMCA will provide an $8.00 food voucher to each cyclist who participates in the Rose Pedal Criterium, to be used only on September 21, 2008, at one of the participating local restaurants. The following restaurants have agreed to participate:

This pre-arrangement agreed upon by restaurants and the YMCA of Southeastern Connecticut will entitle the cyclist to one meal and one beverage, non-alcoholic, to be used between the hours of 11am and 5pm, Sunday September 21, 2008. Families of cyclists are not included on the voucher however are welcome to restaurant services.
