Thanks for the concern. Spent the better part of Saturday at King’s County. Lots of back pain and a nice assortment of road rash.

Be back soon!

Watch and notice

Horace was a lap down when he joined the field at the top of the uphill. Shocking that nobody said anything. Just like everything else people do in races that nobody save one or two people has the balls to call out – joining in a lap down, working in a race after flatting, working in a race when not registered, actively allowing someone not registered to work in a break or bring back a break.

In a word – pathetic!

and over-ruled. I was one of the guys that signed the protest. If you look at image six on this page, you can clearly see Horrace behind my team-mate Raj. We at this point were neutralized and more than a minute down from the break with just 2 laps to go. I was more to the right – and the conversation was that Horrace should bring Ricky up to the break (since he too had points) – I guess during the neutralization Horrace bridged (he must have been FLYING to catch them). When the field had been forced to stop too clear the injured cyclists (which we needed to stop), Horrace re-started with the break and won. The officials had no record of who was in the break making it harder for any protest to stick.

I recall seeing Horrace at the top of the hill after the race started, not sure what that was all about, then later he was in the break. He says that he started the race with all of us and he bridged. The fact that the officials over-ruled it makes his case more plausible and something we have to just accept

If stuff like this bothers you then you need to speak up during and or after the event. And sign your name.

Anyways, congrats to Horrace. Official made it legit so, it is a legit win. See you guys at Mengoni. I will be on the sidelines with my muffins watching you good guys duke it out!

Best,

Horace was not a lap down. He won the race fairly, the officials determine who the winner is in a race so let’s keep it rolling.

It just seemed suspicious given what I and others witnessed. My team, and other riders have a right to question any result and file a protest if something doesn’t seem right. I would expect you would do the same of us and pray that you do when something doesn’t seem right.

In no way were we conspiring against Horrace to cause malice, I and others just wanted to give our point of view, file a legit protest and be sure we had the story straight. In the end we lost the protest, for lack of evidence and the win was awarded. Horrace deserved the win, I love the guy, he is SUPER STRONG, and probably would have won anyway.

A protest doesn’t mean dis-respect. It’s just a protest and I truly respect what your team has accomplished this year.

Good luck to all at Mengoni this weekend.

Best,

Ray Alba

(P.S. those that plan to flame me – you can use your real name. I am ok with that)
