“A” Bicycle Shop, on 163 West 22nd Street is Bordered by Bike lanes on
Nearby 6th and 8th Avenues. “A” Bicycle shop’s layout consists of a
long row of racks on the left of the shop with a separate workshop in
the rear of the store.
On the right of the shop you will find clothing, accessories, and more
hanging bicycles. The store has been on 22nd Street since August of 2006 and prior to that was on West 14th Street for just over twelve years.
The large shop offers a wide selection from low end hybrids to fully outfitted
Seven’s.
As well as a large offering of children’s bikes from Swobo to Specialized, “A” Bicycle shop carries Dahon, Giant, Electra, Surly, and Seven models.
A low end hybrd at “A” Bicycle runs about 250 and you can expect to
pay about 15.00 for a standard flat fix here. All parts are sold at
MSRP so a new Ultegra 10 speed cassette will be about 100 dollars.
For those with the lightest and fastest in mind, one can shell out ten or
more thousand dollars for a Seven with top of the line components and
wheels. Rentals are seasonal and based on availability.
“A” Bicycle shop boasts a friendly atmosphere and a willingness to
work with any kind of bike, and for any kind of rider.
