I was out of town for the weekend, so I only know what people have told me.
Unofficially, in the CRCA TT, Zmolik wins with Margarite second, Neu third, followed by Loehner and Accardi.
Prospect 123 – Jared Bunde beats Rashad, while Johan Burrowes wins in the 4s, after a DQ for the first place winner.
A whole lot of winning went on at the Kissena State track championships. Ken Harris took the omnium, the scratch and many others. James Joseph won a lot of the 50+ stuff. Andrew (The Cupcake) LaCorte won the sprint, for all the results, check here.
Also unofficially, I heard Andy flew in to ride the TT, uber-cannibal style aka “nude”. Any photos would be appreciated.
which one is Rashad again?
Congrats to the boys on DC Racing for having a great weekend at States. 3 qualified for Nationals, and everyone on the team competing took home a medal. Great job!
Pictures!!
Kimani Nielsen and Chris Price did really nicely in the Cat 4 track races this weekend. Congrats
Why did Bunde beat Rashad?
Did Rashad cry?
DC racing made the races at state tracks. It’s great to see a new, young team doing so well.
Thanks to Alan Atwood and all the officials. The races ran perfectly.
Great job to you as well for a great weekend at States. Good luck at Nationals!

I took 1,000 images or so, going through them thismorning and will post in a bit.
Any idea when Bear Mtn registration will go up? The race is getting close…
it’s a month away. at least.
I’ll have them ready tonight or tomorrow.
The track championships were a blast.
haven’t found it on bikereg or crca. Is it even happening this year?
Will have it up this week
Will have it up this week or next
TT results?
looking forward to all those pics!
i think gavin won the 3/4’s out in doylestown yesterday

There may have been 6 starters but I assure you they earned those finishes. That race was hot, very very windy and the packs were small so there was no hiding at all. Erik Markevich (sp) had a great ride. This race course is very nice and its too bad it had a poor turn out.
It’s on, but registration is apparently not open
http://www.crca.net/racesarch/schedule.htm
I just sorted them, so when the promoter and the timer get a chance to review, we’ll post them.
Is there really a Johan Burrows?
The guy in the 4s who won at PP was disqualified for riding in the joggers lane. Its not the first time. Hopefully this will prevent this behavior in the future…
What a finish in the 123 Sprints…! Candian from Jetfuel in the finals was huge. Way to defend your track Lacourte. Was awesome to watch the tactics that were used. Congrads to the rest of you that qualified for Nationals. Yes DC, very nice racing.
Tour of Uranus just opened. CAT4 field is almost full.
The track championships were awesome, couldn’t have been more fun. Thanks to all the officials and volunteers that worked so hard in the raging heat! Can’t wait for next year..

Was it a guy from Kissena?
No it wasn’t. Since we organize the race, and get there early to sign riders in, we generally make it a point to follow our own rules. If you see otherwise, you should bring it to an official’s attention, regardless of the team they ride for.
Category 4
31 miles
79 starters
1. Johan Burrowes (Team United)
2. Kevin Brubaker (CRCA/Affinity Cycles)
3. Sam Martinez (Team United)
4. Carl Nelson (Team United)
5. Gary Bell (Kissena)
6. Chris Yack (Kissena)
7. Jeff Chen (Miya Shoji)
8. Russell Cadogan (CRCA/Sid’s)
NOTE: The first person across the finish line in today’s Category 4 race was # 174 Gerardo Cesperes. This rider was disqualified for entering the jogger’s lane in the finishing sprint.
are ussually in the top 5. Shouldnt these guys upgrade? Or does winning PP 5 times a year not get you the points? Start mixing it up with the 1-3s.
FUSANDBAGGERSFU!!!!!!
Burrowes, Nelson and Ceperes – upgrade already – top 3 in almost every PP race in July.
Don’t listen to that hater, guys. keep enjoying the wins.
So now its August your name sould be there
Burrows,(Blank man),Nelson,Ceperes and complain about yourself for the month of August
I need to see how much I sucked in the TT
how come Greg pays more then Charlie?
how come Greg pays more then Charlie?
I wonder how much time I lost blowing past the coneless turn 2 and almost heading into the bay.
I don’t know but Charlie provides a better product
Agreed. Charlie and Tony S did a fine job putting this together and getting everyone sorted out. Reg check in was quick efficient.
Uhhhh excuse me but myself as well as 3 others complained directly to the same 2 guys, one guys number was 215 or something like that, both were Kissena guys that need to learn to ride strait and not ride in or so close to the recreation lane. But yeah I dont give a crap if its my own teammate I’m gonna say something thats all we need is some shit head to cross into the rec lane and injur an innocent park user.So dont say that because your Kissena you dont break the rules, crca does it too.I’m not pointing the fingert at any club, its the individual I’m speaking about.I dont mean to generalize.
Fair enough, YO, I’m glad you said something to the officials. I mistook your statement as a generalization. Obviously it is all of our responsibility to uphold the rules in order to make it possible for us to race in the park. Personally, I don’t ride Cat 4, but I would hope that whatever notice needed to be given, was in fact delivered, as Charlie is very communicative with our team. We all try hard to make sure these races go off smoothly, which usually means team members showing up extra early to help out with rider check-in, forgoing warm-ups, etc, and it should absolutely include riding within the stated rules.
TT results? Pictures?

For the poor buggers who crashed.
jesus, can you tell the future or something?? that was some pretty ridiculous luck to catch both crashes from the perfect vantage point. lemme get a couple minutes with that crystal ball of yours.
cool video
Why have the results from the JUNE FBF TT not been sent to USA Cycling?
its club race, dorkface
The June FBF TT was an open race.
People need to relax with the demands on this site.
i wish i coulda been therr to dodge underage trans-vestite midget retards at dawn in person, …but
please explain that. It was a sunny day: someone should have taken pictures.
but he gets more people, and one less field.
what are talking about here? at least cover those who placed complete entry feed.
Beautiful work with that vid. Great narration, background score, and some fine riding to boot. Thanks.
and not enough praise for the guys and girls who bust there ass putting on these events. Its not easy to run events especially a TT with all the splits to calculate.
For putting in the effort to make these races happen.
You were really in the thick of it.
I’m on vacation, so posting will be slower. Marco took TT shots.
Why?
why the people who run this site can take vacation during the heart of the season!!??
Andy, it’s irresponsible of you to leave us to talk among ourselves. We’re a flock without a shepherd. And we’re lost.
I know. I’ve got some nerve. I’m hiding out in the hotel bar after chasing the little one all day. She decided today that climbing stairs is fun.
What’s the holdup with the TT results? How long could it possibly take to review them?
“I really want to know if i came in 34th or 38th. I need validation! It makes a difference, dammit!”
What do we pay you guys for?!?
oh, right…
enjoy your vacation andy. it’s well deserved.
Vacation’s for my wife. My life is one big vacation from reality.
They’re totally done, reviewed, spell-checked, etc, but the BoD voted last night to sit on them to see how many infantile tantrums we could provoke in delaying they’re release.
Ken is intelligent and can write well, so if he had written that last post, he wouldn’t have used “they’re” when “their” is correct.
If you’re going to try to impersonate someone, at least attempt to live up to that person’s standards.
Sorry, at 5am, (5x raw data + 5x split data) x 99 riders / 5 fields = temporary grammatical impairment.
Sorry Ken, I thought someone was hijacking your monogram. The explanation via mathematical equation proves otherwise.
is correct as in: They are done, everyone will then look at their results.
delaying they’re release is not right.
Why does it take so long for CRCA to release TT results? Get some help. Everyone else seems to have figured it out.

Maybe instead of drooling in anticipation of your own splits, you could be a mensch and donate some of your NYCV trawling time to helping at the races.
Mengoni is in 2 1/2 weeks and registration has not opened yet.
It doesn’t seem to matter.
Bear is in 4 1/2 weeks. Same.
We need to cool it with the complaining.
You have to get that this are efforts people do volunteering their free time.
If you think it should be better, volunteer and hook it up next year.
Number 49 is Ken Harris 25:12513
102 Adam Duncan – I think
103 – Ann-Marie Miller – 27:39
We should rather thank the guys who are willing to help out than complain about it. So, thanks very much for your efforts. I sucked but it has nothing to do with how you ran the show.
Haha
Hahahahaha
Just do it yourself and show up CRCA.
The Floyd TT is easy to run, right? So talk to the park staff, get the permit and run a TT. I’m sure you’ll run it better. It’s easy, right?
bumping it up

Since Ann Marie flatted on her first ride in the CRCA women’s field, where will her second result fall? In the 1-4 women’s category?

Anyone doing it? I know who the early favorite for the Cs are.

FBF TT: Why have the results from the JUNE FBF TT not been sent to USA Cycling?
Anon: its club race, dorkface
June FBF TT by Dorkface: The June FBF TT was an open race.
Stop whining. Those results will NEVER be sent to USA Cycling, Just like these results will never be sent. If they couldn’t be bothered to send the Fall 2006 Bear Mtn results to USA Cycling, do you really think that they’ll send FBF TT results??
Why does it really matter? If you won the event you can still submit the result when you go for an upgrade. If you did crappy then it really has no meaning anyway. The USA cycling rankings are so flawed anyway that it really does not matter. Perfect example, one of my best points races for rankings was a 3/4 crit (30 racers) in which I was top 20 but lapped. That result got me better rank points then a top 25 at Unionvale with a full feild. My point, who cares…
TT’s don’t count for upgrades anyway. So cool your pits.
“… one of my best points races for rankings was a 3/4 crit (30 racers) in which I was top 20 but lapped. That result got me better rank points then a top 25 at Unionvale with a full feild. My point, who cares …”
Um, if you’re watching that closely, I would go out on a limb and say you probably care.
It was important to send Fall Bear results to usacycling. We had a hard time getting full results from the timekeeper and there were unresolved issues in particular about the placings of CRCA juniors. This was unresolved at the time I left the board although the responsibilty for not sending the results in is mine.
Just got lucky not to be IN either of the Prospect Park crashes. Does anyone know if any of these guys were hurt? Did everyone come out with just some road rash and bruised egos?
don’t know about the guy who solo’d into the curb but I think everyone (& their bikes) was ok from the lap 2 crash…2 of them managed to sit in a lap down after dusting themselves off.
Did anyone send in the results from last weeks Gimbles ride? I won the 5th place sprint – does that count for upgrade points?
is so snarky. So witty. So original. I got a good laugh. Thanks for contributing your $.02. To me it was worthless.
This thread is about as fun as a bowl of plain oatmeal.
TT’s are boring inherently, but I must congratulate Accardi and Littlefield on what appeared to be outstanding results relative to the stiff competition. Good rides, guys!
Plain oatmeal is fine, TT’s are more like something you eat on a plane, something you regret later, but seems like a good idea because you’re bored and have nothing else to do.
For the record I don’t do TTs because I suck at them and they hurt.
Chris M, thanks for manning up and not posting anonymously, but seriously, what’s your problem? What’d plain oatmeal do to you? How ’bout you just go over and kick the Quaker Oats guy in the nuts while you’re at it. Lighten up on your hate to the delicious, unsweetened breakfast grains, guy.
I saw the guy who solo crashed in Prospect walking back to the start, so he didn’t have serious injuries
does anyone know when mengoni and bear registration will open. What categories are they having at mengoni this year?
I’m shocked there is a weblog about the Gimbles ride
I would GUESS that the categories are the same as last year. But I don’t know. You can follow the links from here
http://www.crca.net/races06/schedule.htm
If you are a gimbles fan (I am not as it is just fat old guys wheelsucking for 15 miles and bragging how fast the ride was)then the Velogogo.com blog is ok as it gives you ride recaps.
races may have been tonight. Please feel free to weep openly.
why? aug 14th canceled?
and what happened in the park this am with a foundation rider? everyone a’ight?
OK, for the record, I love oatmeal and eat it quite regularly. Nice calorie stuffer without much fat – great for cyclists! Still, I just can’t take the stuff without some nice raisins or cranberries mixed in, and sometimes a bit of milk or cream and brown sugar(hey, some fat is good too if you are riding…). OK? Haha.
I pray someone didn’t get caught peeing at FBF and the park rangers went all “oooh, I told you no, and no means no” on the crowd. ‘Cause after all its such a public venue and the wierd guy flying his model airplane a half mile down from the start might get a whiff of pee if he has a nose like a dog or something. Say not so, people.
You mean like, the end forever? Did they catch someone peeing on conservation land crab grass?
They are no longer allowing vehicles to access the runways, and are planning on permanently blocking access on August 15th of this year. The barricades are already there, waiting to be moved into place. If they block access, obviously we can’t get pace cars in, and they don’t seem to be willing to work in a gate for us. Charlie will be negotiating throughout the winter to make it happen for next year, but he admits it doesn’t look good.
Pretty sad, considering we are probably one of the only groups that uses that area for something positive. Maybe we can petition to somebody?
What about having them construct a barrier that blocks cars… but still allow pedestrians and bikes???
… And an official FBF pace car permanently station inside the barrier (or a motorcycle or a scooter).
some kind of a crit course using the access roads/parking lot? Better than nothing.
USAC suspends members
USA Cycling has announced suspensions for two of its members as a result of a physical altercation at a local race in Prospect Park, New York. Oleksiy Ivanov received a one-year suspension for physical assault while Eric Robertson received a 15-day suspension for verbal abuse, with both suspensions backdated to Monday, July 30.
Ivanov was charged by USAC for his role in the June 9 altercation and did not request a hearing, but did make a statement and cooperated with the investigator.
That’s too bad about Floyd. Strictly speaking, pace cars aren’t needed for a bike race. What is needed is a car to get the officials/promoters/equipment in to create the start finish (in bad weather) support the marshals.
I wonder if anyone has good connections to the Nat’l Park Service or a senator or congressman who could help with this.
The statement reads as follows:
“My outfit consist of some very cute tight skimpy orange boy shorts ,
enough temporary tribal tattoos to cover 80% of my body and a pair of
steel toe boots…and if my opponent wieghs more than 48 pounds …. a
10000000000 volt tazer.”
