Big weekend of racing in the city, the CRCA points race saw Zmolik beating King and Lowe, with Eng beating Accardi (he sprints now?) and Bloom.
Jermaine Burrowes won at Prospect I believe, other details are sparse.
Harlem was hot and hectic, with surprisingly few mishaps, well except for the 4/5 race and an Affinity scrape up. Amaury Perez from Mengoni takes the Pro 1/2/3 win; Camie Kornely wins the women’s race; Euri Madera gets the 3/4 win; Reed Albergotti wins the 4/5 race; and Ken Harris and Roger Friedman co-win the Masters race. Results were posted ninja-fast at velocityresults.net. Take special note of 13th place in the 3/4 race – mighty!
Housatonic happened also but there’s no reports from the north yet.

shit man, mind if we get 1 year of racing before we’re asked to upgrade?
80% of those guys have been racing 2 years at least. o’malley, accardi, serra, goodstein etc. i’m guessing a lot of 4’s are hoping for that elusive win before they upgrade.
The big bumps at Floyd are gone. Mr. I did some hole filling, and the Burrowes Bros. dug out the two biggest lumps and filled them with concrete. It’s still bumpy out there, but the worst is gone.
i saw that the bumps were gone last week. we all owe mr. I and the burrowes brothers a big thank you.
A lot of the good new 4s have less then a year of road racing. The guys that are now all 3s were racing for a while and placing top 10-20 consistently. Look out for the new 4s to make there mark in the late season and next spring. Unionvale, doc reilly, bear and jamestown should shed some light on who to watch. Adler, westwood and DC racing have some strong 4s.
I dunno who to click on first, the hotness or euri
yeah, harlem was fun, and even though the 4/5 was a total sketchfest, I was happy to stay upright through the whole thing. I expected I had a good chance of going down in this race.
Hey Tony,
Nice job with the race. I just wanted to lobby you to send the results in to USCF – that is so helpful.
Antony,
Thanks for the kind words, but the Bear Mountain win was in May 2005, and, out of the ten races I have done since then (excluding CRCA, which do not count), my best result is 13th in Jiminy 2007. I would like to have the results that merit an upgrade, but the facts show that this is not the case.
Thanks — see you out there.
yeah, i’m still kind of in a daze. i think the sun got to me.
harlem race was fun as hell though..and it felt much safer than i thought it would.
What happened with the CRCA motos, are there not enough motorcyclists in the city willing to get up to support 2 6AM races?
Suprisingly little chatter after a full weekend…I guess we’re all tuckered out.

Hey, I was singularly responsible last year. Yesterday seems to me like it took you two guys to get a second place, that’s all.
As JT said, Euri’s fast. And he was alone for only the last 2 minutes of the race. Dmitri told me there were attacks, but all were shut down quickly.
And because the field was close behing, ML couldn’t risk playing games up front
Baldwin are you commenting on someone getting second at Harlem?
Karma for talking crap about Rafferty. Who solo’ed in on 35+ race on Saturday.
How can ML miss out with two guys in the break?
Watch the 4s on dc racing.
glad to see uglietta is back in the game!
Thanks wrinklestick, its good to be in the 3’s – finally!
Here is a list of 4’s who need to upgrade soon:
O’Malley (slacker)
Reed Albergotti
Anthony Accardi
Scott Wisenbaker (already an A but still a 4)
Craig Goodstein
Tom Auth
Dean Brizel
Kevin Brubaker
David Burns (come on man, you won Bear!!!)
Matt Serra
I’m sure there are others so don’t be offended if I didn’t put you on this list.
Kim told me he’s upgrading now.
Where’s Wisenbaker?
Hey Tony, congrats on your upgrade.
will the last person in the cat 4’s please turn off the lights. seriously are there any up and comers. seems like most of the decent 4’s have moved on now. i guess that’s what supposed to happen. but who’s left that we should watch.
i’ll second the kim upgrade wish. he’s nearing sandbagging status.
Nearing sandbagging status? He’s been a sandbagger for a while. UPGRADE!!!!!
Ok, you have enough points now, can you move up, please? Great race

David Taylor was 3rd in the 35+ race
Chris Shaw was 10th in the 3 race (and did Harlem as well)
I looped around the Harlem course on Thursday I think and the southern leg has a contruction “shack” thing taking up half the road just past fifth avenue. it’s a circuit, so it wouldnt’ take people by surprise, but I’d expected it to be stressful having the road narrow so much.
Nice work (I presume) by the organizers getting that cleaned up and off the road.
And the pavement along the front stretch is soo much better than a few years ago.
Lambden did the best I think. Sarah Chubb Sauvayre and Eugene Boronow doubled up too.
Who else?
About six guys fell just after turn one in Harlem p-1-2-3 pretty early in the race but it didn’t seem too bad — I hope no one was hurt.
Some other guy in that race decided to turn right onto 120th St instead of the normal left about halfway through the race. Don’t know if he thought we were changing course or what. No crash though.
nice job lisban!
Heard Bunde, Ravazinni, and LaCorte were riding Pro International at T-Town on Friday night. Do we have any coverage there? How did our boy’s do?
Katie got 3rd at Housatonic in the morning, then 2nd at Harlem in the afternoon. Whoa.
