just to start the moaning early in the season

in that pic of me I’m complaining to the officials about lapped riders in the field. If a race is under road race rules, lapped riders can’t hop back into the field.

William

George, thanks for clearing up the credit in the 3/4 race. You worked your @$$ off in the break and deserve to be recognized for the nice work. You and Marcus both did a great ride. For all those involved in the crashes, please have a speedy recovery! Looking forward to seeing you guys out there again.

Affinity's outfits look really good

And the CP bathrooms were open early with lots of clean TP.

Just mentioning the important stuff.

he's not looking over his shoulder in that pic

…he’s looking where he’s going – that’s good technique

not quite (but a good shot)

but i think u know what i mean, as in, hold on and be careful since there might be, ahem, 30 guys right behind you. i seem to recall similar disasters last year in CP by experienced riders caught off-guard. sh*t happens. we heal and move on.

3/4 crash 1

Apparently the (1st) crash, which took place on lap 5, was the result of the leader of the pack looking over his shoulder & losing control, bringing down about 10+ guys. Most got back up but the 3 of us left on the pavement ended up shaken and stirred w/ broken clavicle (me, OA), separated shoulder (Steve, Pro-Pedals), and tons of road rash (Chris – not sure the team: Sid’s?). Fortunately nothing worse. But it still sucked. I hear something similar happened in today’s C race in the Park. Lesson: don’t look back over yer shoulder, guys!!

The 3/4

I was one of the 3 in the break. There were no Adler guys in it. It finished William something from Westwood, me for 2nd (in all black-no team kit), and then Marcus from Merryl Lynch.

Ofoto -break - no on Ideal

Yeah – it was good seeing Jon yesterday. The nice thing is that his fitness isn’t 100% back so I can keep uo with him. Dont know about 2 weeks from now.

seriously

okay, seriously, jon erdelyi stayed at my house when i was a youngin’ and he was still on ofoto where everyone disliked him on his team. he spent the entire night on the corner of his bed, shaving his arms. probably about 3 or 4 hours.

last year, he was a a new jersey race, marshaling, with long, flowing, led-zeppelin-esque hair, cheering on his once-fellow comrades.

it’s good to know he realized what he was exceptionally good at, and now we can see him race once again. good going, jon!

Lots of Crashes today

It was nice to be back in the pack again but there were several crashes in Branchbrook in most of the fields, including a few riders to local hospitals. 2007 begins with a bang and some whimpers…

Great WIN

Though the season is still early. A win is a win is a win. Now I have to win something. Maybe the fattest guy in the peloton? The slowest guy in the peleton?

GMG

Adler didn’t win the 3/4, that must have been a different category. The 3/4 had a 3 man break from lap 2 with West Wood taking the honors on an early jump just before the overpass.

A Duncan

The 3/4 was won from a 3 man break that stayed away from the second lap. (actually a 5 man break, but 2 guys dropped back.) The filed sprint was Adler 1, 2, with Ugli and Cisco taking the honors. The crash in the 4th lap was…not good. Best wishes and speedy return to all the guys who were seriously hurt.
