Chris Chaput got 4th in the Tour de Toona cat 4 road race, 8th in the crit and 8th in the overall GC. Eric Berend got 11th in the Cat 3 road race. The road race course is gorgeous and so much fun and the crit course was awesome — I’ll definitely go back next year.

I mean, why is it that cycling is always targeted when I just read the other day that the IRONMAN time was just broken again – 8 hours 7 minutes and change. Are you going to say, " THAT GUY IS CLEAN?" I am willing to bet that person isn’t. It just pisses me off that WADA doesn’t target other sports as heavily as cycling.Like Triatheletes.

And what about those 150 other names from OPERACION PUERTO? I mean, did they all get exonerated without the pressure of the press or losing their contracts over speculation. Also, how is it that some of the cyclists implicated in OP are now exonerated and Ulrich isn’t?

I agree with Cippolini that WADA is getting out of hand – using the media to spin things their way, not cooperting with outside parties to validate testing and defining a judicial process that doesn’t mimic those of the the modern world.

I admit. an organization like WADA is needed but, they should rethink how they get information out (when and where), should use more than one testing facility in case equipment or process failure, should invest money into how supplements affect naturally created chemicals that aid in performance (EPO is not a supplement), and target all sports equally. I think FIFA must donate MILLIONS to WADA which is probably why you don’t see many soccer players implicated – hmm I have yet to find one in the last couple of years.

What sucks now is that all of these doping accusations are killing cyclingl though some are just while others are not. We are at a time in US cycling when getting sponsors is easier – and I can tell you with all this negative press, people and companies are going to invest elsewhere! Like FRISBEE GOLF. I am sure those guys are on drugs, just not the performance enhancing kind.

The media is painting an ugly picture, indeed, however I’ve been reading that the testing methods of detecting synth and natural testosterone are woefully inadequate and outdated when it comes to its use with riders of the modern peloton. From what I’ve been understanding there is no testing method for differences in Physiology and cheating techniques of today. WADA would never admit to this BTW!
