Eugene solo’d with 20 miles to go, Jason solo’d with 2 laps to go. Lou Viera and Dave Nazzaroff (owners of Toga and Gotham bikes) showed up with their support vehicle, which usually sits in front of their new shop in Nyack. Four riders flatted, and they were on top of it. They’re offering this service to cyclists in need in-or-around Nyack.
And!….they put op the money for four $50 primes. Toooo-Gaa!
Women?
Good riding. Fun race and tiring to me at least. Weather not bad. Toga/Gotham support was cool and I heard their new shop above Nyack is really nice too.
Eugene had a rear fender on his bike and Bremer and front and rear fenders….
There were only 3 female riders though. Eugene managed a 30sec+ gap all the way though.
The three women were Liz Seward of Tenafly Bike Shop, Cindy Ma of Sanchez-Metro and a rider from Champion System. Not sure the order of finish — they rode with the men.
Hallo Eugene,

How large was the field?
The NYC ESGQ had about 70 riders I think.
Here’re some partial results from the Hudson Valley ESGQ at FDR State Park: Brian Rafferty, Deno’s Wonder Wheel won. Chad Butts was second, Fernando Ferreira of Targettraing third, Tom Luzio fourth, Morgan Stebbins seventh.
i bet rafferty is twice chap butts age. nice going!

..but good rides to all, of course…
Warchol and kaminski were 5th and 6th in the hudson valley.
