I am definitely a fan!
Decent Cat 3
I often read in the cycling press especially after a big win in the middle of the season riders will say “I’ll take some time off and then start planning for…” their next big goal race. When they say that do you take time completely off the bike? Like

Toyota United seemed to ride the Fuji C-7 Team bike almost exclusively over the lighter C-10 SL-1. Granted, under the UCI minimum weight rule there may well be no difference in bike weight. But what is the reason for the preference of the C-7 frame? St

how do you train for sprints?

Seeing as this blog is written by a sprinter (Ivan), the question is probably for him.

Nice. Is it harder to “relax” and pee when there is another mans hand on your butt? Not that there would be anything wrong with it if it were. Do you have to practice that move often to get it right when it counts?
Im also curious about your training

Thanks for the thoughts Ivan. As a wicked fast sprinter, its really interesting to hear of your training thoughts. Esp not caving to the crowd and using the hoods (best riders break the mold right?) – maybe now the group on this site will be less quick t

I did a training ride with Ivan and Chris Horner a few years ago when they were with Saturn during Philly week. he told me alot about racing and his life he left in Cuba. He really is such a nice guy i can not understand how he is such a great sprinter?
Andy
John Campo did a great interview with Ivan a while back.
I guess this article was pulled but I’ll comment anyway. Ivan is a great guy. He tells it like it is, no halfstepping. He works hard doing the things he has to do to compete. Most of the questions you’all asked were answered in my interview.
