Andy

vdv has landed and he brought csc stuff for the auction. Nice jacket, bibs, all descente stuff. Bring money and bid for the juniors.

Aaron

With all these “sprinters” showing up, maybe you’ll actually have to ride a race or two before the final. Can ya hack it?

Cupcake

Yeh, you keep feeding your ego. True you don’t stand a chance against the Penciltuckieans and is your situation not mine. I don’t need any excuses just because the “jobless Penciltuckieans” might show. Yes, I work, Have a mortgauge, raising a child, Twice the age as you guys, and have a wife with an expensive shoe habit. But I won’t stand down. Plan D? Not an option at this point for me. I will have a drink with you and I will be impressed when I see the 500 times. Keep thinking about plan D. And Wisewell, you are the nat that won’t go away. Stick to your long distance road races on the track bike.

Still not Gui

LaCorte, Buddy. Just incase I am wrong…. you havn’t betten me yet, right? and…. i don’t stand a chance against the jobless Penciltuckieans. So you might (just an idea) want to join me in plan D….. Be drunk before your second round as not to embaras yourself. See you tomorrow.

Wiswell

All this smack talk from LaCorte. I figured I would go easy on you but now I will really have to embarass you. Ya hopefully you’ll make it to the final now that there is some real competition. 27 hours and counting…

LaCorte

Anything over 225 and they are not telling the true.. Unless it is Wisewell ofcourse! He is just the man this year.

LaCorte

I recall him getting waxed two roller races ago. I hope to see a better finish this time since he is so buffed now… You better not disappoint..

LaCorte

I am now thinking plan C game with the big guns that you are bringing… This will be the best competition I have ever seen if you show. Hopefully it will be short and not so painful so I can at least enjoy one drink.

Proud Cave Man

Vandevelde is cool, but this is the same day as the Victoria’s Secret fashion show…where do I send a check to support juniors??? As for Tuesday, dudes in tights or barely covered super models, what to do what to do?

Erin Hartwell

Marty and I met with Champion System earlier today and heard about the event… now, we’re thinking of bringing our T-town international sprinters over for the roller races: Ben, Andy, Nelman, and Kasper from Denmark. Marty and I will hob knob and imbibe in some of the local beverage with the sponsors… All in an effort to relate better with our NYC cycling brethren.

Lacorte, you’d better bring your “A” game.

Wiswell

Is there are gear restriction for the roller races and, if so, what is it? I need to know what gear to beat Cupcake.

Dave Perry

I’ve already considered that, without holders, there would too much tail whip

It’s super cool – a guy fresh off Ghent six-day boards – is gonna be in house

About that grudge match with andy and dan – it’s gonna cost yous…

connor sallee

a big thanks from me to everyone who’s supporting this event, as well as our team. it’s much appreciated! hopefully we can all be there to watch you guys have a good time.

and 7:10, thank you very much dude

Oh the possibilities

How much will it cost to see Vande Velde race one of our riders at the Roller race? Hey it is for charity right? And a fun night? Who should it be?

A. Spectacle

I saw roller racing as a junior, and that’s why we do these rollers, to have as much fun now as then.

Want to support NYC youth cyclists? Come out to Kissena Velodrome, this Saturday at 9:00 AM for the Star Track finals and celebration. If you’re lucky, you can you can actually see a 2007 Master’s World Championship Gold Medal.

Don’t you hate it when they spell someone’s name wrong? Doesn’t everyone know it’s Christian Vande Velde? These guys need to know about your dad’s VandeDrome 45-degree track that did the Goodwill Games on Staten Island. Anything is possible.

Helping kids is great. But getting tired of hearing people refer to “my junior program”, “some of my juniors.” The excessive possessive is amissive.
Will velocitynation require a kit color change or will they stay in hedge fund blue?

schmalz

Do you guys actually have a problem with getting more people involved in the sport, especially young people?

Is protein poisoning interfering with your reading comprehension?

Anonymous

OK that may be true but they will never live up to there potential if their out drinking beer all night and smoking weed.

just saying

you were lucky to be invited on a group ride with anyone senior. Sponsorship did not exist unless you were a cat 1. The word coaching was not associated with bike racing. Now these juniors get free carbon bikes, clothing, entry fees, support at races. Talent or commitment seems to be a pluss, but not required. Pretty sweet deal, young dudes.

Juniors are the present juniors. In the future most of them will be out of the sport. The sport as we know it is recreation for middle aged men and women.

Jack B

That is the same for every sport, only few out of many make it up the podium.

What makes it important to support the willing (not just the winners) in the early stage of cycling is the lack of any other source of support for cycling in particular. Most schools have some funds for other more popular sports but ZERO funds for cycling.

Those kids are the future of cycling and if you look at some of the best racers around many of them came from Junior programs. Colavita, Cuevas and CRCA need to keep it up. Almonte is going to be great and Carter Jones of Colavita is the real deal. Also, Sallee of CRCA is a great cross racer and he does not get enough praise. Keep it up youngsters I wish I started when you did.

hey “andy”, if you don’t like what people are saying here maybe you should go and get your own site. it’s none of your business how much we drink or what we smoke, or how we spend our free time.

MQ

I’ll drink for the JRS
and I’ll drink to that, and that too.
as im drinking a battle of white.
nice!!!!!!and sweet

DHR

So CRCA isn’t currently supporting a large Jr team…maybe it is because d-bags like you don’t want to cough up the $20 to support a team that could attract and support a larger Jr Development team.

if these kids were real teens they would be spending their money on beer and weed like we did, not on bike parts and not waking up at 5am on Sat and Sun morn when they really should just be coming in.

but i will drink to them but pretty much i will drink to anything or nothing.

Anonymous

Forget the benefit. Put on a good show and keep the money. Buy new large screen TV’s. Your kids will love it.

What’s so important about supporting 5 juniors? It’s nice to help a couple of kids get to a few races but this whole junior thing is getting wrapped up in a grandiose fantasy that doesn’t amonut to a hill of beans! Have 50 kids come to a CRCA race and you’ll be pissed off.

schmalz

Because “a benefit for old d-bags who already have jobs (or should have jobs by now)” just won’t fit nicely on a poster

Lewis is a jr. and there will be Beer and last I checked the drinking age was 21. So dont be a friggen a-hole – it was a legit question.

Do juniors get free beer for 2 hours?
Are there spotters for the Juniors
after 2 hours of beer? 🙂
