Never one to mix it up in local sprints, Schmalz gets ambitious at the tour.
Stage 5
July 6, 2005 Due date plus 4 – if this were our first baby, we might be panicking a little, but baby #1 was 12 days overdue, so we’re sitting tight.
Already one hour up on GC after two stages, Schmalz climbs off and dons the devil costume.
July 4, 2005 Plus two on the baby due date, I’m still guessing on a birth on or about the 5th.
A strong contingent of New Yorkers traveled to Quebec to compete in the Coupe des Ameriques, a 4 stage 3 day Masters race. The strongest showing was put in by Jason Bremer (GS Mengoni), who won the Category A race (men's 30-39).
Not content to comment from his couch, Schmalz flies to France and attacks the caravan.

July 3, 2005 Plus one on the baby due date, I’m guessing a birth on or about the 5th.
