West Coast:

Maybe a week to test the 'A' sample and nine weeks to test the 'B' sample? Could be possible, but smells fishy to me.

If the article is correct, the UCI intended to cover up the positive and Contador hastily released the results, when they knew they would be outed by the German journalist.

There's nothing fishy about the 2 month wait for us to know, its actually good they waited till the 2nd sample was tested so we wouldn't start up with, lets wait till the B sample is tested BS. A and B are positive for the clen and no matter how much THAT is the fishy part! He's going down otherwise the UCI would of buried it already, its out because the case is moving forward.

From tainted Columbian cough drops, anemic dogs, sick grandmas needing EPO, secret police dropping dope into water bottles, chimeric twins, and now tainted Spanish meat the never ending comedic excuses never ends! I could of never thought of most of those at the time of the accusation, there must be an excuse generator somewhere, I could use it to get out of my recent cop spy cam intersection ticket.

Very suspicious how it took two months for this to come out. This article would explain that (Edwig @12:42PM refers to it)

The timing makes sense.

If you were going to transfuse your own blood or just spun red blood cells (which in itself is not detectable) you would want it on the rest day before the Tourmalet.

intersting take on positive
By: Edwig
Thu, 09/30/2010 - 4:42pm

given that Contador's defense Dr. is the Dr. for Vacansoleil, I'm leaning to this explanation.

“If the data is correct then it’s most likely that it is a ‘Landis’,” Damsgaard told Danish TV station TV2 via SMS. “It would suggest that he has received a transfusion of his own blood, taken out a few months earlier when he used clenbuterol, which he has gotten back into his body.”

Damsgaard refers to the case of Floyd Landis, whose positive test for exogenous testosterone during the 2006 Tour is still disputed by the American. Landis admitted to having doped through much of his career, including that Tour, but continues to deny using testosterone; one of the explanations offered for the testosterone positive is that the blood he illegally transfused during the race was taken from his body during a time when he was using the substance.

We will wait and have to see what that really means. Keep in mind that FL made the point that his T levels was actually low. It was the ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone that was elevated....

The authorities were saying, "he had 11 times normal testosterone levels!!!", which wasn't apparently true.

Is the 1/400th thing some sort of spin by UCI and team Contador, or proof that the got some banned substance from tainted food? I guess we need to know more.

Sastre is squeaky in Spanish, as he climbed 4 min slower than LA/MP up Alpe D'Huez, and at the same time put 2 min into Cadel...that performance alone makes 2008 a "clean" race in my mind...

previous decade, Big Mig (1991-1995), BJ "60%" (1996), Jan (1997), Pantani (1998)...

thats only the top step, so tell me, why does anyone even attempt to "believe" pro sports are "clean"...

They do have a jersey for the most well-rounded cyclist. It's called the Yellow Jersey, usually 'all rounders' are awarded it.
With that said, they're not rounded enough to finish a race like a specialist can.
Well, back to cutting this hair...

Sprinting
By: John Eustice
Wed, 09/29/2010 - 1:22pm

What I find hilarious is the concept that pro sprinters have an easy ride to the finish line - "armchair". In fact, a pro sprint effort is something akin to a flat out 10k tt, with a kilo ride thrown in at the end. They are brutally hard efforts and many super-fast amateurs never see the light of day, once in the pros, because they simply don't have the strength to make it to the end. Cavendish is superb in hard track events (helloooo Madison!) can ride a prologue very well when needed, is somehow is capable of winning a Milano San Remo, and can finish a grand tour in contention for the Green jersey. He's plenty strong, don't worry. He's the fastest road sprinter (along with Pettachi) in the world and very rightly focusses his physical development on winning Tour stages, the biggest payday for both him and his team. Watch him when he ages - say post 30 years old and the speed (perhaps) begins to diminish. He'll turn Sean Kelly on you and show great depth.

is what he is - good in the last 150 meters. Positioning is no walk in the park so tyler and griepal get the edge there. Tyler has had plenty of train leadouts and cav just goes around him in the last 150 meters.
Thor is pretty much out of the picture for green jersey's.
Griepal isnt as fast as Cav.
Haussler can be beat Cav if he can keep the sport from beating up his knee.

sprinters aren't cyclist too.

They can't do what you do and you can't do what they do.
Respect each other for what they are good at. When was
the last time thy gave out a jersey for the most well rounded
cyclist. Cav having a team to protect him is they proven way
to get the job done. Without his killa sprint it doesn't matter
how committed your teamates are.
