Testing is a waste of money. Nobody can afford EPO and hGH and they most likely wouldn’t even know how to use it correctly!

Maxence Ergopower

seriously…where the hell have you been???
EPO and HGH? for multi-day stage races yes…but for one day park races good old fashioned steroids will get it done. What did Bunde test positive for? Clomiphene.

Clomiphene is a doping substance according to the Penal Code. Particularly men, who use anabolic steroids, commonly use clomiphene or other anti-estrogens (for example, tamoxifen) as an accompanying drug.

The purpose of clomiphene, in this case, is to inhibit the estrogen problems caused by the overdosed anabolic steroids, that appear when anabolic steroids convert in the body to estrogens or other metabolic products that have estrogenic effetcs. These problems, in men, include the over-growth of breasts (gynecomastia) and blood coagulation disturbances.

there is also this: http://www.usacycling.org/us-cycling-athlete-marte-accepts-sanction-for-anti-doping-rule-violation.htm

And if those drugs aren’t pro enough for you…and you have the cash for epo…there is this: http://www.bikeradar.com/us/news/article/two-amateurs-test-positive-for-epo-at-gran-fondo-new-york-34711/

there’s more…but I raced last weekend and since I don’t take drugs or use blood bags = I’m tired and going to sleep.

Giacomo Ferrule

hell, even Adderall is a performance enhancing drug, and is banned. Anyone can get there hands on that.

Nipple Wrench

But if you know how to take the EPO correctly like the Pros do, you won’t get a positive test and you will get the maximum benefits from it. EPO works for even one day races dumbass, because the Olympic track sprinters used to abuse EPO because it was never tested for. Everybody thought it was only beneficial for endurance.

“Sarah Sauvayre of BH/Comedy Central won the women’s cat 3/4 race”

Dude. Sarah has been Cat 1 forever and she’s on your team…

Victor Topcap

Anyone else hear the rumor that some promoter is eyeing Floyd for a Wednesday night race series?

id

Wouldn’t Friday be better. Start drinking after the race and stay out until the bars close than head to the CP race?

Pix pix pix! Channel 11 lives!

Cameras everywhere. Expensive ones. Ones with real-big-type lenses. A camera person on the back of a moto. A moto that was IN THE FUCKING WAY and causing hilarious, grand-tour-style faux attacks. MQ notwithstanding, (thank you btw), where are all these super-pro-shots of the Dave Jordan crashathon? 1. They were actually taking pictures of birds and fauna despite the pesky bike race in progress, or 2. They were actually cops with radar guns disguised as cameras recording speeding infractions and all the fields will be issued summonses en masse. (With the exception of the women and cat 4’s, of course.)

SeatSeptor

haha, can’t you people find any other place to race beside FBF? For a city that think it’s so great and stands on such a high horse it sure seems like it can’t find anywhere but sh*t places to race.

Giacomo Ferrule

Central Park is certainly not a sh!t place to race. Neither is Prospect. Or Harlem. FBF, maybe but that’s part of its charm. Then there is Rockleigh a short ride away, and Bear Mountain possibly the best road course anywhere not too far. You can race 4 times a week without ever getting in a car. It’s more like an embarrassment of riches.

Paul Cable

A flat course that is still often hard and selective, what’s so shitty about FBF? Maybe your skills racing it?

Provenzano Cage

“Bear Mountain possibly the best road course anywhere”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

raphael Roadie

It would be nice if there were more races at Bear. While perhaps not the best road course anywhere, it is a damn fine road race course.

shootthegap

Would be nice to see Grants Tomb course revisited later in the season when guys are really on form.

Theo Stiff

So Harlem, how is this supposed to work with the narrowed loop at Marcus Garvey Park? It was already known as the Skinscraper before they took away half the road width….

Matteo Seatpost

If you like some of those venues, behave when you are there. That way they can continue to be used in future years. In prior years there have been more than one Grant’s Tomb race. It is possible. But you need to get the approval of Riverside Church. Which one of you wants to approach them and see when they would allow a race?

Bear can only safely happen during spring and fall. During the summer the roads are too crowded.
