Time to be e-word

If you listen closely, you can hear the dull murmur of keyboards and hushed voices as the discussions wind down. Tires have been chosen and pressures debated. Cycling clothes (all of them) have been packed, roof racks have been mounted, and racers have steeled themselves to spoon the night away in a crowded hotel room with a teammate they barely know. Yes, it’s here, Battenkill weekend, and it will be e-word. It’s probably too late to sign up (and terrifically too late to start training), but you can go here to do it if you need to.

In addition to Battenkill this weekend, there’s also local racing. There’s a Spring Series Race in Central Park, for those who prefer their achievements to stay on the down low.

On Sunday, there’s the Rahway River Park Crit "Manny Lopez" Memorial in Rahway, NJ. There’s also the 2013 Outdoor Sport Center Bethel Spring Series – Circuit Francis J Clarke in Bethel, CT. The Kissena Women’s Track Clinic is Sunday, and if you didn’t get enough Battenkill on Saturday, there’s also the Challenge Grand Fondo on Sunday.

If the Floyd race is happening, will it really be a cone crit even though the runways are clear?

Lost a set of keys on a black key fob after racing in Central Park this morning. If anyone came across them in the park please call 646-373-7272.

Thanks to whoever scooped up my keys and another thanks to Van Dunk for holding them. Kind of hard to climb through a 3rd floor window. Left my spidey suit at home.

“weak results by nyc riders at battenkill”
????
Cat 2 winner — Evan Murphy, foundation
Cat 3 winner — Chris Strumolo, dave jordan
cat 3 winner — Jesse walker, setanta

lots of other podiums by NYC riders, not to mention a few of the cat 5 winners too were from NYC.

Oh, wait, I get it. Those 3 riders above are from Queens, Staten Island, and Brooklyn. Only the UWS counts as NYC.

1st, Adam Tracknut, something is wrong with you if you don’t see ‘yo”s sarcasm.

2nd, JP is easy to slam, he does a lot of racing and fails most of the time. He is also smug. However, what he lacks in talent he makes up for with heart and experience. It was a large field yesterday, everybody wanted to go with Breach, only 3 were able. He took 4th by an inch as the field was on his heels. He also made a winning break earlier this year. It’s unlikely he will make a winning break again until next season, but it’s still more than most of the racers out there can accomplish.

… For the B’kill video feed, you should ask Matthew V., I’m sure the 6Cycle gopros have hours of epic footage!

It’s sarcasm?
You mean all the negativity and hate here on Velocity is really sarcasm and love?
Wow. You made my day. It’s a wonderful life.
