There's a lot of local racing going on this weekend, with one of the biggest NYC events happening on Sunday, but let's look at thing in chronological order first.
On Saturday, there is Round 4 of the 2012 Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup at Prospect Park.
Also on Saturday there's a CRCA Club race and the Women's Racing Clinic.
Which brings us to the big one on Sunday—the 39th annual Harlem Skyscraper Cycling Classic p/b Rockstar Games.

NYC bike racing needs far fewer people bitching about other riders' bike handling and far more saying "You know, I'm no expert bike handler myself. Who can help me get better?"
Especially how the guys in the back always think the guys in the front don't know how to race.
Misha just posted on FB that he'll be ok...lots of stitches and a couple of chipped teeth but no fractures.
He's pretty beat up but spirit is up!! Hurry up and get well dude!!!
It was pretty awful to see. Spare a thought for Misha Chiporukha who got the worst of it.
...except I'm fairly certain there were a few wrecks in the crash 4s too...everyone's a critic
....basically because cat 3 is the new sketchy cat 4
It was pretty rough out there. My count was 8 wrecks in the 2/3 field.
I didn't catch the wreck that halted the race near the end and resulted in a 3 laps-to-go restart, but I did see the guy take turn 4 wayyyy wide and eat it into the barriers going into the sprint...ouch
'Cause I wasn't there to calm everyone down. Any fist fights?
Any theories as to why the Harlem 2/3 was extra crashy this year?
I almost turked my way to a top 30 in that last sprint. Got boxed in though.

That's an awesome "crouching tiger" style of racing.
The strategy of slowing down in corners then accelerating hard to "pop someone off my wheel" is sheer brilliance. Such a display of tactical skill & handling prowess. I wonder if he offers online coaching? Can I download my power files and send to him? What is the optimal power output for accelerating out of corners using that technique?

This guy is now a Cat 3 (For Somerville. These are reasons why a 100+ field of recently upgraded 4s is a very scary thing. Brace yourself for bone-head cornering.
