There was a lot of sweating and grunting and vomiting this weekend, but i don't really want to talk about my other hobby here so let's talk about bike racing instead...

As a part if his initiative to reinvent himself, DA will be handing out fliers before the race advising us not to use PEDs. After the race, DA will also be hosting a yard sale to sell off his bike stuff by the men's bathroom.
USADA will be bringing multiple choice scantron testing to all CP races going forward. Racers will be expected to bring their own #2 pencils.
i doubt it will happen but they should.
Mandatory testing for all masters.
I did hear that USADA is going to be testing top 3 at Mengoni in all fields
I know what it means to be in "The Clear."
Hi, if someone were to stop using PEDs today would they be in the clear for Mengoni?
PS Asking for a friend.
Thanks!

Mengoni Grand Prix registration closes today at noon.
The Men's 1/2/3 race is full. There is 1 spot left in the Cat 3 race, 25 in the Cat 4s and plenty in the Women's 1/2/3 race.
If you are not racing, come and watch one of the most prestigious races on our Calendar. Winners of the Men's and Women's Elite events are list at http://www.crca.net/results/past-champions/mengoni-grand-prix-champions/
Among the entrants in the Men's Elite field is 2011's winner Augusto Sanchez(Mengoni), 2010's winner Rafael Meran (Foundation), 2008's winner Adam Myerson (Team SmartStop/Mountain Khakis) four time winner Wilson Vasquez (Mengoni - 1996, 1996, 2001, 2003) and full teams from Champion Systems/Stan's NoTubes, GS Mengoni and Foundation as well as the best New York regional riders.
But the highlight of the day will be the kids races which start after the Women's Elite race finishes. See https://www.bikereg.com/NET/15277/CRCA-Mengoni-Grand-Prix--Kids-Races for details.

The whole "results bro" refrain is pointless. Most cyclists have not reasonable hope to ever get results. If that is what you are there for, or how you judge success in cycling, you are probably nuts. Enjoy racing. Enjoy riding. Enjoy the scene.
Speaking of arms race. The Olympics is also all about who has the biggest schlong.
China is kicking ass, most Olympic medals...haha
i fucking hate TT's. not because i dislike going hard, that's just the essence of this sport, but because i refuse to invest another couple K's into a silly bike, wheels, and other aero shit. clip on bars are alright, but i hate having to adjust them to be "just right" and mess with my saddle position and all that good stuff. it just takes the fun out of it for me. i'd much, much rather hop on my road bike and go as hard as i can for as long as i can. hence the appeal of the cannibal TT for myself and other like minded riders.
My stem is as clean as my conscience! Also, as clean as my dinner plate.
for life and im ok with. only raced 3 time this year. and did not win a single race.
But I love this stupid sport..............WELL TT's????????? not so much
No you lack handlebar/stem real estate with all the crap you got mounted on there!
I lack talent and dedication?
Nah homie, bike racing is bout havin thangs!
C.R.E.A.M.
But seriously Shen, why you a cat 4-ever?
I thought my willingness to stay shitty is everything that's right about the sport?
Believe me I dont wanna talk about how DA is a big jerk or have long monologues about how DA stole people's results.
But I want us to go back to making fun of people
For instance, we haven't seen a picture of Greg Olsen in one of his NASA helmets recently, was he part of the mars rover expedition?
Let's go back to making fun of Andy Shen for being a lifetime cat 4, dude SHOULD start taking tips from DA
I thought this subject was just petty enough to fit in here, and was a welcome distraction from DA.
For the love of god will you guys shut up
If you aren't gonna post funny things on here then GTFO
Enough with your whining about which events people sign up for!
Can we go back to speculating how many vials of EPO DA was shoving up his butt on his way back from the Bahamas?
Or at least let's talk about how no one signed up for TOKEneke cuz USADA is bad for your munchies
The investment in aerobars is small. And the other aero stuff has a far smaller effect on performance than aerobars.
Eddy class just seems like an excuse.
I've been beaten by guys with better equipment. But it wasn't the equipment that beat me, it was the rider. Sac up and compete against people. Bike racing shouldn't move toward the "personal best" and "everyone-gets-a-medal" type of activity. It's a sport in which we race against other people. Man up.
Can't say I agree. Actually, most people agree that a TT is test of strength and pacing. TT'ing has become a bit of an arms race, which is fine because there is a lot cool TT equipment out there and if you want to pursue it that way, have at it. Having an Eddy class just strips that away, allowing racers to not have to wonder "how competitive would I have been if I had that aero helmet, disc, aero bars, etc?" Completely valid category and a great way to introduce new people to the discipline without any extra investment.
The Eddy Class, or "Cannibal" category is just a way for slower riders to feel good about themselves. Aerobars are cheap and easy to install. It's weird that someone would choose to neglect a faster method, and even weirder that a race organizer would accommodate that choice.
the future of cycling. Easy to plan, easy to watch, easy to "participate"....
Road races and Stage Races are just too difficult to plan and keep going. You also forgot about Jimminy Peak (a great race -ended by Rumble Strips) and Doc Reilly.
Tokeneke cancelled, Housatonic cancelled, Tour de Parc gone, both Bear Mountains cancelled, Fitchburg gone... what is happening to our races? Maybe this deserves more attention than the DA issue, because it's all just a moot point if all that's left for us is Gimbels and Rocket Ride.
Tokeneke is cancelled....how about a TT? Eddy class for those without the TT gear or those preparing for GMSR.

Top sandbagger was....10th. Maybe they sandbagged the sandbag?
Go ride your bikes, douchebags.
How did the CDN sandbaggers make out in the Cat 3 race...
For a good ass-whooping, I recommend the Catskills race.
JoshS to Team Anger Management p/b Foundation.
bust away. really, i did it based on a quick glance at the size of the fields. that, and i hate the women. and juniors. and masters. and moms. and the cat 5s over 35 but under 37 and a half.
actually, i am just lazy. ask everyone. and thanks!
Men cat 3(top 10 mentioned)is more important than women 123(only top 5 deep considered, thus no mention of any names?).....Josh, just bustin your chops. Thanks again for doing this.
:)
by money, i mean nudie pics of the two of them. andy has a GREAT full length mirror.
Shouldn't 'money' be in quotation marks too?
i mention one teammate and i am now biased? sheesh. I actually did it as such: Men1/2/3, top 15. i missed mike and i didn't realize red deer, AB (where nick is from) qualifies as local, even though he is on a "local" team. other men's fields were top 10 only, and women's were top 5. i was going to go through the juniors and masters, but then Andy and Dan's money ran out so i stopped. but thank you for going "deeper" than i cared to, Mr Swallows. your payment will be along momentarily...
Ooooo, sorry I missed them!
Not looking for intern spot at NYVC, I think Andy/Dan/Alex do a great job! And Josh is awesome for filling in!
I just wanted to add the names to the results because races like ToC are the ones mentioning people's recognition. That's all, no harm intended to anyone!
Hayden Judd of GFNY wins the CAT 5.
Also in the Women 123 field:
6th: Suzanne Lucash
7th: BrittLee Bowman
Looks like Jack Swallows is angling for the NYV internship
Josh, I appreciate your bro-mance to your teammate but if you are going to mention outside top 10 from local notables, let's mention a few more through, say around top 15? Our local teams racers really did well.
Men 123:
10th: Nick Friesen
14th: Mike Margarite
Women 123:
11th: Erica Adelberg
14th: Donna McMahon
Men 3:
11th: Richard Scudney
13th: Ira Blumberg
Women 3/4:
6th: Emily Spence
8th: Danielle Kosecki
10th: Barb Blakely
11th: Meredith Uhl
Men 4:
14th: Brian Sullivan
Masters 40+:
4th: Erin Korff
11th: Ben Noble
Masters 50+:
6th: Richard Kazimir
Juniors 15-18:
8th: Sam Morkal-Williams
Congrats everyone!
