Danny droppings

It was an eventful weekend of racing, which was held against the backdrop of the remnants of the despicably named Hurricane Danny, so let’s delve into what happened between the raindrops.

On Saturday at the Silvermine Time Trial, there were many classes and therefore many winners, notable among them were Lynn Frampton coming alive to win the Women’s cat 4 class; Joe Straub of Westwood Velo winning the men’s 45+ class; Phil Penman of Teany winning the cat 4/5 class; and Kevin Brubaker of Pacifico winning the 1/2/3 class. Full results are here.

On Saturday at the CRCA Club Race, Gavin Robertson of Foundation won the A race; Deb Kilman of Signature Rockstar won the women’s race; Leszek Sniadowski of Organic won the B race; and Mauricio Sanchez of CRCA won the C race. Results are here.

The New York State Track Championships were held on Sunday, with Colin Prensky of Sanchez/Houlihan-Lokey taking the 1/2/3 category; Alexander Barouh of Kissena is the cat 4 champ; and Stephanie Torres of Sommerville Sports World Team is the women’s champ. Full results are here.

Up at the very pro Chris Thater Memorial in Binghamton, NY, Brooke Miller of Team TIBCO wins the pro women’s race, while Keven Lacombe of Planet Energy wins the men’s pro race. Results are here and here.

I know some people, I’ll forward your content to them.

Ilias Sealant

Yes but – he races for CRCA….and correct me if I am wrong, but I am looking and I just can’t find it — can you? Other than Roger Aspholm — do you see anyone else who is in the CRCA or races regularly in NYC that is higher on this list.

Chad Feldheimer

he’s still not from NYC. find another way to describe him in your public appreciation of his racing.

FGJ

Really nice hard working guy from CT. He is having a breakthrough year. Last year he was a top Cat3 but was not on this level. He is on a new level and should be picked up by a team like BikeReg or Empire so he can do bigger national level races.

I have been in many races with him as a Cat3 and he is always one of the nicest guys in the race. You can also find him punishing the Gimbels ride on the weekends in the off season.

Keep it up Pete.

Ethan Chamois

only thing better than Eve bringing Bermer back was the all to short lived Eve/Peppo breakaway on the west side.

i wish that lasted a while longer

Ilias Sealant

No Doubt Evie was impressive….just crushing at the front at points bringing back mini breaks.

Ditto sentiments – Hurst is a breakout year.

Location guy — PARK IT YOU DORK…next up will be, he doesn;t live on the island, he is not from the upper east side….I am wiating for you to post “my name is Justin Freedork, cat 4, CRCA/Team Gaydar, I am ranked #1 for cat 4’s in the Murray Hill area of NYC.”

Anyhow – NYC has another really good young rider in Hurst to celebrate, who is winning a lot of the cherished races “Housatonic”….yup you read that right Justin FreeDORK— get your panties in a mess…..the race with hills…you should try tappering more for that next year…the big one…HOUSATONIC

Chad Feldheimer

since you saw evie riding, you were in the A race apparently, ilias sealant. i am embarassed to be racing with such an excitable person.

alanatwood

….at the track but not feeling well. Most folks would just pack it in and stay at home; he came out and helped with a long day of racing and drove the scooter for the Keirins. Thanks Cupcake!!

Killian Seattube

Ilias Sealant – nothing you wrote here faintly resembles the english language. Who are you speaking to? You seem to be speaking in tongues.

if the Universal Sports announcer says vuelta..A!!..espana in that gringo-from-hell voice one more time, i may go find him.

i remember years ago, being a newbie cat 4/5, tooling around CP on a new bike. i felt poseurish – it was a sweet ride but felt it was way too nice/flashy for me & i didn’t deserve it since i hadn’t won anything yet. some guy comes rolling past, slows down, says “nice bike, man. seriously, really, really nice bike.” my sarcasmometer went into overdrive analyzing the intonation, context, any subtle clues – but immediately ruled the comment ‘Genuine.’ i was frankly so stupified to be a newbie getting a genuine compliment from someone who looked like a “real” racer that i forgot to say anything. the rider pedaled off into the distance, his flowing locks of brown curly goodness poking through the helmet vents, trailing the air behind him …

that man was ray alba.

Aloysius Nebuchadnezzar

and before you say it, yeah, that was bravo’s latest episode of ‘cat 4/5 eye for that ray alba guy’

and you, banal lebowski quotation lover:

“oh no … he hath health problems.”

Ray Alba

Whoever wrote this –

i still love ray alba
