Tim Johnson is one of the most friendly and easy-going guys in the sport. He loves teaching ‘cross and his passion for the sport is contagious. When Tim discusses training and racing, you can’t avoid feeling pumped up and motivated for the season!
Pete Webber has led clinics for years and has developed a well-organized curriculum that packs a lot of instruction into a 1 day mini-camp. Focused on the keys to ‘cross success, Tim & Pete will take you thru a step-by-step process that includes their best tips and tricks. Check out these testimonialsabout Pete’s coaching.
We’ll end the day with a complete review and give you a take-home handout to remind you of the essential lessons learned and your priorities for improvement.
The only way you’ll learn Tim’s cyclocross secrets is to attend this mini-camp! (Or you could kidnap Tim and torture him, but the camp will be easier.)
These camps are best for riders with some cyclocross racing experience. But don’t be intimidated, cyclocross beginners are welcome and you don’t need to be a speedster to enjoy this camp. We’ll divide into groups based on ability.
You must have a USA Cycling license, or purchase a $10 one-day license at registration.

You Need:
A tuned-up cyclocross bike
Helmet and riding kit
Camp will be held rain-or-shine, come prepared for the conditions that day
What tires? CX clinchers are best, but tubulars are fine too. Most riding will be on grass and trails.
Prepare for Camp:
Do at least 4 training rides on your ‘cross bike before camp, including trails
Do at least 2 dedicated ‘cross skills sessions to get your mojo working
Get your bike tuned up and adjusted so it is working well
Think about your strengths and weaknesses and come prepared with questions

This why these guys get into pro CX racing, most of them quit hedge fund jobs when they realize that CX racing is where the big money is at, and then they have the temerity to make upwards of $1000 in a day coming to NY to help amateurs learn. Thomas Piketty needs to look into this.

I know that I could change the CMS, but I’m not going to do EVERYTHING, I feel that I do enough already. There’s no reason for me to write, edit AND code a site that doesn’t pay me anything.
How many cyclocross races near NYC are there in a season? Do they even do Staten Island anymore?
If 5 people show up, that’s a 1000 bucks. Easy money, and judging by the photo more than 5 came last year.
While I can eat quite a bit, this camp isn’t the typical “watch me do something really fast, now you try it” kind of camp.
Pete Webber is a teacher of skills at heart and we rely on a clear curriculum where the skills are learned through progression by each attendee. Also, the skills we teach are applicable for all types of riding, including the gnarly big city riding found in NYC. This is definitely a clinic where we teach and the killer catered lunch that’s provided is an add-on, not the star of the show.

If I had a nice backyard that I spent quality time in everyday, and enjoyed the company that came to visit the yard, I would want it kept clean. If a hole in the fence let in the neighbors’ dogs who took big stinking shits in the yard multiple times a day, requiring I constantly clean up after it, I would fix the fence.
Otherwise, eventually there will be so many turds the company will stop coming to visit, and the yard will go to weed and that will be that. But considering that, as the host, I still enjoy spending time in the yard, it might be worth the time to take care of business.
Yeah its not cheap but in fairness it’s Tim Johnson not a local coach, and his clinic are very professional, I did one last year and I’d recommend it, even at 200.00

$200 is more than fair. As stated below, you are getting instruction from one of the best, if not the best in the country. Compare it to paying $300 to do a group ride up 9W.
Does everybody know that Pro Pedals let a rider into the cat 3 NJ Road race with a lap down and he won the race? He cheated by jumping into the race and being a lap down. What are the clowns about the NJBA doing about it? Mains is busy get a hair transplant!
