See the Copenhagen 6-Day

Wed, 12/21/2011 - 11:03am by schmalz

The 6-Day Experience

"This is a really dynamic rare opportunity offered by NCA [National Cycling Association] to be inside European pro 6-day excitement. It's about the spectacular racing and VIP scene but more…we'll be up close with Bobby and Jackie as they ride hard to break into the 6-day system. We'll meet legendary cycling personalities and riders, wine and dine at the track restaurant and infield by night, visit Copenhagen by day. There's nothing else like it. I can't wait." - Jack Simes

Meet The Team

Over the course of the trip you will have many opportunities socialize with and get to know the American team of Bobby Lea and Jackie Simes IV. Bobby and Jackie were the new stars at the 6 Giorni dell Rose in Italy last summer. They won the 50km Madison, finished third in points and fifth overall against top European competition. Cheer for them each night as they try to improve on their Italian effort.

Personal Trip Guide

Anna Young, U.S pro/elite rider and former national title holder, will meet you at the airport and guide you through the entire 6-day experience. Jack Simes III, 3 time Olympian and veteran of the Euro 6-day circuit will give an insiders view of the racing as well as behind the scenes action.

Cycling Legends

6-day organzier Henrik Elmgreen, who is also President of the International Velodrome Union, will meet with the tour, talk about the history of the race, and answer questions. Mr. Elmgreen will also personally autograph your copy of his new book on the history of the Copenhagen 6-day that he wrote for the 50th Anniversary celebration. And, you're sure to meet and mingle with other famous cycling personalities and riders.

Enjoy The City

During the day, tour the bicycle friendly city of Copenhagen only 20 minutes away with your rail pass (included). The UCI (Union Cyclist Internationale) voted Copenhagen its first official “Bike City”.

I think Simes and Lea may be one of the best US six-day teams in a long time. They should be fun to watch.
There is also supposed to be an American team in the amateur division in Copenhagan also.

Copenhagen is one of the worlds awesomest cities...hot Danish women, great food and alcohol, incredibly clever architecture and design. And, oh yeah, bike friendly. Highly recommended.
