THIS EMAIL WAS SENT BY THE PROMOTER: We just got word from the Essex County Parks Department that we won't be allowed to hold the bike race tomorrow as planned because of the threat of severe weather. Most people getting the email won't care but we're sending it to everyone who raced last week just in case you were thinking of showing up tomorrow. We're disappointed that wp won't be able to race on Saturday, but safety is the biggest concern. The good news is that early weather reports look absolutely terrific for Saturday March 20th. Also, please talk to your friends and teammates and make sure that they know the race has been canceled in case any of them were planning on showing up. Thanks Jim Bernstein

Tomorrow brings the Calvert Toefield Memorial Road Race at Prospect Park. Start is at 6:15.

+1 on the long course.
Despite the litigious shenanigans, i suspect nj cycling has not seen the last of ray smith.
schooley's mountain was a good race.
Ray was a piece of work, but I sure miss the long course, I don't really do Branch Brook that much anymore because of that.
the hand of god flicked him from the face of the earth
What ever happened to Ray and his brother who used to run the long course at Branchbrook? Those guys never canceled.
