Fitchburg
Actually had a pretty good time with Stoffel. We found some good places to eat and spent time with some good people. TT was pretty good. Circuit race is just a 10×1 workout. RR is pretty good. Crit is safe enough. I never though that hay bales would be so soft, but I was forced into them on the first or second lap.
Owasco
This is the best road race I’ve done so far. 71 miles, almost 6,000 feet of going uphill, all on a single loop. The TT course and the Crit are nothing to complain or write home about, but the trip is worth it just for the road race. The area is pleasant enough, especially Skaneateles (pronounced scan-atlas).
Poughkeepsie Crit
Great to see Chris Chaput kick ass on all the fatty sprinters! I think if the promoters give out cigarettes next year they could get people to come watch. Everyone I saw there not involved with the race was smoking, drunk, vagrant, crazy etc. City has a long way to go.
Unionvale
Well, I hoped for something good at this race but the strong guys and my own mistakes crushed my dreams. As I was on the verge of dropping out after wasting all my energy bridging to the wrong break, I ran through my pre race prep again in my head and realized I had forgotten to take my usual old-guy medicine: Alleve and a double espresso. No wonder it hurt so much. Congrats to all who deserve it. See you at Tokeneke, suckers!
