Hangover September 10, 2012

Here’s your stupid results

Intern Josh is on hiatus for this week, so I am breaking my self-imposed ban on writing about bikes for the month of September and reluctantly bringing you this hangover.

At the Hunter Mountain Fall Classic, Nolan Montiel of CRCA Setanta won the cat 3 race, Ira Blumberg of CRCA FGX Racing was second. Unattached Chris Strumolo won the cat 4 race. Mark Miller of Favatas TrT Bicycles won the masters 40+ race ahead of Gregg Galletta of CRCA BH/Comedy Central. Doug O’Neill and Haluk Sarci made it a Wonder Wheels one/two in the 50+ race with Richard Kazimir of CRCA third. Barb Blakley of CRCA Innervation Fitness/Stan’s NoTubes won the women’s cat 4 race ahead of Anna Mumford of the CRCA. Results are here.

There, I typed in September, I hope you are happy.

Schmalz swallowed a turkey thermometer in a dangerous yet legal high tryptophan technique which led to him getting dropped.

Are you kidding, big time? That would mean talking about racing bikes. This site talks about lance and doping. that’s all.

Flatty flatser

pro cycling is about pro doping. looking at the vuelta last week made TdF look like a kindergarten and the mont ventoux like a cat 4 hill. 3 cat1 climbs and a horse cat .. i heard the street price of epo in spain reached a all time high

Rinaldo Chamois

If Tilford is so smart and knew about all this doping way back when, why didn’t he speak up when guys like LeMond, Simeoni, Bassons, Walsh, Kimmage and others were being dragged through the mud?

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”

At least NYV isn’t quiet.

Gianni Bunghole

Not quiet? What, were the sucking on their Ton Danielson bobblehead doll pacifier when they interviewed the retard Zabriskie (for one)?

Vaughters was a dogshit writere for Cycle Sport (before Cycle Sport sucked) too and no less full of shit as D.S… oh but he tweets– and completes!!– me.

Maybe he should teach Farrar to stay upright first?

Wow Tilford got 2nd in a nat’l crit championship back in 2006.

That’s not so bad, really. It only means he got beat by a guy who might, with a little luck, last half a day in a spring classic or a Grand Tour.

Totally qualified.

Diego Butyl

That was the elite race in ’06, not the championships. Hilton Clarke won that year and Dan Schmatz got 4th, FWIW.

Tristan Headset

The thing is, you have no idea how he would fare in a Euro race. It’s not apples to apples – that’s the whole point of all these dope stories.

Kevin Brazeon

to Brendan Sullivan, who won a second straight Master’s National Road Championship last week in Bend, OR. He was also 2nd in the TT. Go Brendan!

Thomas Plug

Is Dan Schmatz a distant 3rd cousin twice removed of Dan Schmaltz?

Did someone on that side of the family not like the “l”?

Anyone have Coach L’s contact info?? I’m looking to up my game next year and think I need help on the psychological side.

It’s been a month and a half since you promised us that updated David Anthony story. You must be doing an extra-thorough job with your fact-checking.
