2013 PLAINVILLE SPRING SERIES USAC Competitive Event Permit No. 2013-467 Farmington Valley Corporate Park, Plainville, CT 06062 March 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2013 Notes: 1) One lap length is 0.6 miles of flat, wide, smooth pavement with two, wide ninety degree turns. 2) Fee for 2nd Race on the same Race Day is $15.00. Race Day registration surcharge $10.00. No Refunds. 3) USA Cycling Rulebook, Paragraph 1J7 Maximum Field. Registration: Race Day Registration opens at 9:00am and closes when the previous race finishes. The registration desk is located in the rear parking lot of Trumpf Inc., 111 Hyde Rd., Farmington, CT. There is a Race Day, Late Registration Surcharge of $10.00. A USAC License is required and must be presented at Registration. Online Registration is available via BikeReg.com. Directions: From Hartford – I-84 south to exit 33, CT-72 west to exit 1 turn right onto CT-177, turn right onto Northwest Dr., turn left onto Farmington Valley Dr. From Waterbury – I-84 north to exit 33, CT-72 west to exit 1 turn right onto CT-177, turn right onto Northwest Dr., turn left onto Farmington Valley Dr.. From Torrington – Rte.8 south to exit 39, US-6 east, turn right onto Rte.177 south, turn left onto Northwest Dr., turn right onto Farmington Valley Dr. Parking: Only within the Rear Parking Lot of, Trumpf Inc., 111 Hyde Road, Farmington, CT. Special Instructions: Contact Information: Jim Thompson 860.255.8567 jthompsoniii@gmail.com Warm Down Lap: After crossing the Finish Line, riders must turn right and complete one ‘warm down lap.’ Women: USA Cycling Rule Book para 1K2 determines race category eligibility. Field Finish: USA Cycling Rule Book para 3D8 Field Finish Option will be applied. Minimum Field Size is 20. If the number of entries, 10 minutes prior to any race, is less than the minimum field size, then the organizer may cancel the race and refund fees. If the organizer conducts a race with less than 20 entries, then the race day cash prizes are cancelled. Scoring: Points are awarded as follows: 1st 7 pts., 2nd 5 pts., 3rd 4 pts., 4th 3 pts. 5 th 2 pts., 6 th 1 pt. There are two primes per race: Prime 1- 1st place 2 pts., 2nd place 1 pt. Prime 2- 1st place 3 pts., 2nd place 2 pts. Overall series leaders are tracked according to points awarded each week. Riders may protest point totals before the following event. The Team, not Club, listed on your USAC License is the Team credited with Race Points won. USAC Road Category Upgrade Points: This is a USAC sanctioned event. USAC category upgrade points are awarded in accordance with USA Cycling Rule Book para 1D2. The Race Day Prize Pool is announced at the starting line. Cash Prizes are awarded as a prize pool percentage; Prime No. 1 – 1st 9%, 2nd 6% Prime No. 2 – 1st 11%, 2nd 8% Final Placing – 1st 21%, 2nd 15%, 3rd 11%, 4th 9%, 5 th 6%, 6 th 4% Individual-Series $0.50 per race category entry accumulated through the series funds the end of series prize pool; Final Points Total (Placing/Prize), 1st 57%, 2nd 29%, 3rd 14%. Team-Series $1.50 per race category entry accumulated through the series funds the end of series prize pool; Final Points Total (Placing/Prize), 1st 57%, 2nd 29%, 3rd 14%. Prize payment plan: Prizes are paid per race and not per rider category. There is one prize payment in mixed category fields. Cash prizes are paid on the day of race, on-site, and at the registration desk. Prizes not collected on the race day are forfeited. The cash prize for the team scoring the most points for the entire series is based on the team’s three highest scoring riders each day of the entire series. A final points total tie is decided by the better finish line placement of the last race.
